Made in New York Pizza Opens in the West Village

by xoJohn

The pizza in New York City is arguably some of the best in the world. When given the opportunity to attend a grand opening of the big apple’s latest pizza spot, we couldn’t resist. I headed down to the West Village to celebrate Made in New York Pizza‘s second location. The first is location is on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, this new spot is on Hudson Street between Perry and West 11 streets. The new location features a robust menu of pizzas in both traditional square pies and by the slice along with an impressive art collection of murals, NFTs, and graffiti art that celebrate NYC. It is owned and operated by restaurateur Eytan Sugarman in partnership with Chef Lou Tomczak formerly of Emmy Squared. Sugarman’s partners in the project include Gary Vaynerchuk, Guy Oseary, Ryan Tedder, and DJ Clue.

by xoJohn

For Aaron Greenwald, the founder of BOLD Organics, practicing a healthy diet does not mean giving up what you want to eat.

As a competitive tennis player in high school, Aaron started his gluten-free and dairy-free diet to drop some weight, while at the same time aiming to be stronger.

‘See me illumined…’ was the tune playing in my mind during the Diesel Black Gold Spring 2012 Fashion Show at Pier 94. The presentation was a story of artistic modishly mystique designs, and as the models blazed from the reflective installation backdrop, it was a look at me extravaganza. Imagine wearable high tech hardware in the form of varied leather and denim construction all nuanced with metallic luster and pizzazz. It was the perfect reflection of why this intensely structured wearable collection was one the best presentations this season and will be a winner for the Diesel addicts worldwide.

The Break Down:

Location: 192 Mott Street (at Kenmare) 212-219-2353

Cuisine: Light Italian

Items: 1 Medium Pie, 1 Appetizer, 1 Dessert, 4 beverages (non-Alcoholic)

Cost: $50 (with 20% tip included)

Best Dish: The Pizza, both types were equally tasty

Overall: Not intimate enough for a first date but a great place for an established couple, great friends and even the kiddies.

I can hardly believe there was a time in my life when I didn’t know what a “real” pizza was.

As usual I was running late. My dining companion texted me a picture of his refreshing Margarita to make me feel even worse as I was making my way to Brooklyn. When I finally arrived, I was greeted by our spunky waiter, an annoyed friend, and the delicious scent of Mexican food. All was right in the world.

When a foodie thinks of New York City, images of crisp pizza slices and infamous deli favorites usually come to mind. However, as institutions go the steakhouse is native to New York and as popular as pepperoni or pastrami on rye. Our city is home to some of the country’s oldest steakhouses, some of which still operate in their original locations.  Though historic steakhouses are a staple there are plenty of modern versions popping up all over the city.  One of the newest is Benny John’s

Uncover The Enchantment of Foxtail

by xoJohn

Although it may just seem like an ordinary hotel standing in Soho, The Arlo Hotel has a hidden gem waiting for you to discover it. As you enter the popular venue you may be surprised to discover that inside lies a wonderful speakeasy full of intrigue and Nostalgia.

Foxtail Speakeasy is the name, as I approached the entrance I was pleasantly greeted by a lovely host who welcomed me into the space. The Menu featured various cocktails all reminiscent of the 1950s and 1960s era. The tasty cocktails were both tasty and well crafted by the lovely bartenders who make you feel at home.
