The biggest date night of the year is slowly approaching.  With just a little under 2 weeks before the main event it is time to start making some reservations or at least exploring options.  If you and sugar lips have a sweet tooth we suggest you indulge that urge with a trip to the Sugar Factory.  We ventured to Times Square and sampled their Valentine Day menu. This year the menu is full of fun flirty nostalgic options that will satisfy the sugar obsessed kid in you and the booze loving adult.  The assortment of items include quirky cocktails with cotton candy and theatrical dry ice, adventurous appetizers with sexy cheese pulls and spicy Cheeto dust, hearty beefy entrees and a selection of decadent sweets.

Broadway Review: Fat Ham

by Desha Winborne

Director: Saheem Ali

Writer: James Ijames

Cast: Marcel Spears, Billy Eugene Jones, Nikki Crawford, and Calvin Leon Smith

Broadway’s latest gem is a story of Southern-fried grief, relief, pain, and joy with a sprinkle of Shakespeare. Fat Ham is a comedic adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic tale of revenge “Hamlet.” In this wildly creative version, The Prince of Denmark is presented as “Juicy” a queer college student living at home with his mother and uncle aka his new stepfather. Last week the French honored Bastille Day, an annual day of reverence for the storming of the Bastille, a major battle of the French revolution that united the people of France. To honor the day we headed to the east side to enjoy an evening of gourmet cuisine at La Brasserie. Formerly known as Brasserie Les Halles, the dimly lit space is fashioned after the old French Brasseries which were casual dining spaces serving hearty foods rather quickly.
