As usual I was running late. My dining companion texted me a picture of his refreshing Margarita to make me feel even worse as I was making my way to Brooklyn. When I finally arrived, I was greeted by our spunky waiter, an annoyed friend, and the delicious scent of Mexican food. All was right in the world.

Each year it doesn’t seem possible. How can TV Personality Josh McBride continue to curate an over-the-top birthday bash that stands out amongst New York Fashion Week events? Well, he did it again, throwing a birthday extravaganza filled with star-studded performances and New York City as its backdrop. Held “in the sky” at celebrity hotspot Somewhere Nowhere, the room was electric with over 400 invited guests ready to celebrate Josh. I’ve now been lucky enough to experience Restaurant Pearl’s dinner menu and the newly launched brunch. Let me tell you, you can’t go wrong with either! Created by AYS, a women-owned marketing and events agency founded in 1995, it’s a unique combination not to be missed.

Summer is the time to leave the four walls of your apartment behind and get out into the fresh air. Many bars around the city offer outdoor options but not all are created equal. Below are some of our favorite spaces around the city that allow you to enjoy the sunshine.

The Bronx Brewery
I find myself in the Bronx more and more these days! My gym Grit City NYC, lunches at Mottley Kitchen, Yankee Games and The Bronx Brewery. The Bronx Brewery is spacious with its brewery, taproom & backyard space. While it has recently expanded around the city, their OG spot is in the Port Morris Neighborhood of the Bronx. The owners believe in beer’s power to build community and they strive to bring people together, while celebrating the rich and diverse creative scene in their home borough through vibrant culture that uses beer, art, food, and music to inspire. They serve beer – plus a full
