Hornitos Halloween

Halloween in New York City is always a festive affair. The city hosts a slew of spooky events. The Annual Village Halloween parade is one of many highlights during Halloween. The parade itself is filled with amazing costumes, floats, and great performances. Before heading out to enjoy All Hallows’ Eve frenzy, I plan on hosting a more intimate affair with some close friends. Think of it as the calm before the storm if you will. Amongst my friends, I’m usually the go-to person for creating a delicious and festive drink for everyone. For Halloween, I’ve created the “Scream Cream.” The main ingredient for this beverage is Hornitos® Black Barrel, which is a premium aged Añejo tequila. It’s different than any other tequila I’ve consumed in the past, simply because of the hint of whiskey this flavor carries, and I also enjoy a good whiskey.

Malibu Black got into the Halloween spirit with a downright frightening night on the Lower East Side.

Sons of Essex set an intimate mood for indulging in sinfully delicious cocktails curated with Malibu Black. Guests enjoyed Malibu Black Blood, Malibu Black Voodoo Punch, and Malibu Black Stormy Night. The devilishly fun cocktails were complimented by my favorite hors d’oeuvres – Truffle Mushroom Pizza and Fried Mac n’ Cheese Balls. To say that I was content is an understatement.

Simon Doonan’s Halloween DOs and DON’Ts

by xoJohn

Edgar Allen Poe died on October 7, 1849, 5 years after publishing “The Raven.” With the recent “The Raven” movie, it’s clear the most famous bird in history inspires Halloween costumes, films, and even winery names today. Teaming up with Poe-inspired Ravenswood winery, style expert Simon Doonan (Creative Ambassador for Barney’s) thinks so, and he’s created a series of How To tips for Halloween entertaining.

Ghost goblins and   other things that go in the night, gathered at Hudson Hotel’s “Good Unit’s” for a major Halloween bash.  The costume party was hosted by Esquire’s sexiest woman alive, Katrina Bowden.  The skater zombie and surfer chick themed party, featured a half-pipe with zombified boarders performing tricks and pretty surfer chicks dancing to sets by world Famous DJ Scribble who kept the crowd moving with bass pounding hits.

When I first heard about a new vodka that was supposedly interactive I’ll admit, I was in such disbelief. After doing a little investigation I surprisingly discovered that this new super-premium vodka is indeed interactive. Having only launched a few months ago, Medea vodka is revolutionizing the spirits industry by merging opulence and technology with its scrolling LED screen – making it the world’s first interactive bottle!
