Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF), a nonprofit organization which remains steadfast in its commitment to identify and fund groundbreaking cancer research programs to save the lives of millions, hosted an Intimate Dinner at Daniel. The memorable event featured special guests, performers and other surprises. A highlight of the evening was special musical performances by actress, singer and author Bernadette Peters and Matthew Morrison, formerly of Glee and several on and off-Broadway shows.

Museum Of Arts And Design’s 2016 MAD Ball

Earlier this week, we stopped by Pier 60 for the Museum of Arts and Design gala, also known as The MAD Ball. The annual gala recognizes individuals from the arts and design field. This year’s honorees were not only inspiring but creatives that many upcoming artists look up to. The Visionaries! Awards honored design advocate, patron, and longtime MAD Trustee and CEO of Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation Charles S. Cohen; the late architect Zaha Hadid; Angela Missoni of the Italian design house MISSONI; and conceptual artist Yinka Shonibare MBE. The Museum also celebrated its Diamond Jubilee 60th Anniversary this year.

On November 11, the James Beard Foundation (JBF), will pay tribute to the multi-cultural cuisines of Singapore and the United States at the preeminent culinary organization’s 30th anniversary gala at the iconic Rainbow Room in New York City. The JBF Gala: Singapore’s Culinary Crossroads will feature award-winning chefs from Singapore (Cheryl Koh, LG Han, Yew Eng Tong) who will combine creative talents with Cat Cora and JBF Award winner Alfred Portale. The unique, globe-spanning gastronomic gathering is being presented by the Singapore Tourism Board. Specialty cocktails will be created by Employees Only, the world-renowned cocktail bar that opened its second location in Singapore this summer.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) is the world’s leading philanthropic organization funding and accelerating prostate cancer research. The organization has raised more than $660 million and provided funding to more than 2,000 research programs at more than 200 cancer centers and universities. Over the weekend, PCF hosted its annual gala at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, NY. The event’s Challenge Research Award raised over $3.5 million in support of the foundation’s work. The gala supported the 12th Annual Charles Evans PCF Pro-Am Tennis Tournament, named after the successful entrepreneur who constantly turned tragic events throughout his life into philanthropic causes.

The 12th Annual A Hamptons Happening marked the 40th Anniversary of the founding of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) by noted oncologist and cancer researcher Samuel Waxman, MD. The event is one of the most attended events in the Hamptons where guests gather to celebrate such an amazing organization. The benefit took place at the residence of Maria and Kenneth Fishel and hosted 40 of the top chefs and restaurants in New York City and the Hamptons. CBS 2 News anchor Chris Wragge served as the host for the 6th consecutive year, while Sandra Lee received honors for her charitable work. Other honorees included New York Times best-selling author and breast cancer survivor; Jayma Cardoso, Founder of the Surf Lodge in Montauk; and Deirdre Quinn, CEO of the luxury fashion company Lafayette 148 New York.

Inside The Lupus LA Orange Ball

Celebrities, studio executives and supporters of the lupus cause came together for Lupus LA’s largest fundraising event of the year, The Orange Ball: A Night of Superheroes yesterday at the iconic New York Street at FOX Studios. Hosted by Terrence Jenkins, celebrities on hand to help celebrate and raise money included Michael B. Jordan, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kristen Johnston, Fear The Walking Dead’s Lorenzo Henrie, David Henrie, Wayne Knight, O-Town’s Jacob Underwood and Trevor Penick, Dream’s Melissa Schuman, The Original’s Haley Ramm, Taylor Spreitler, Sophie Tweed-Simmons, Elisabeth Harnois, Grandfathered’s Kelly Jenrette, Ray Donovan’s Heather McComb, Lupus LA Ambassador Meredith Monroe,country singer Brian Hughes, Lupus LA Ambassador Ali Hillis and more! Ryan Cabrera and Howie Day gave special performances throughout the night. The event raised over $400,000 for lupus research and local patient programs.

Each year Lupus LA presents awards to individuals who strive to make the world better for those living with lupus, whether it is through research, charitable gifts, spreading awareness and more. This year’s recipient of the Loop Award was comedy actress Kristen Johnston, who is also a Lupus LA Ambassador and has helped increase awareness and raise important dollars for research. Her Third Rock From The Sun co-starJoseph Gordon-Levitt presented the award. Additional award recipients included Meredith Davidow Pegula, who received the Daniel J. Wallace Founders Award along with Dr. Paul Hackmeyer who received the Medial Visionary Award for his exemplary dedication to those living with lupus. Event chairs included Jim Gianopulos, chairman and CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment, Nancy Utley, President of Fox Searchlight Pictures and Lauren Shuler Donner, acclaimed film producer.
