For the past 10 years ‘wichcraft has been keeping hungry consumers full and happy with their delicious sandwiches and snacks. To celebrate the decade long anniversary, the eatery held a fun soiree at their scenic Southwest Porch, located in the heart of Bryant Park here in New York City. The party was hosted by Tom Colicchio and Bombay Sapphire gin.
Tom’s new signature sandwich paired with the “SAPPHIRE ‘Tin Shandy” cocktail to toast ‘wichcraft turning 10. Tom Colicchio and Bombay Sapphire have joined forces this summer to create a collection of imaginative dish and cocktail pairings.
Since tin represents the traditional 10th anniversary gift, Bombay Sapphire has incorporated it into the name of the signature cocktail and served them in tin cups, which guests took home as a souvenir. You too can make this delicious drink at home:
SAPPHIRE ‘Tin Shandy
1 part BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Gin
3/4 part Lemon juice, freshly squeezed and filtered
1/2 part Simple syrup*
1 bottle Belgian-style wheat beer
DIRECTIONS
Combine first 3 ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake well and pour over new ice in a highball glass.
Top with Belgian-style wheat beer.
Garnish with lemon and orange slices.
*To make your own simple syrup, dissolve one cup sugar into one cup hot water.
As guests mingled, they enjoyed other Bombay Sapphire specialty cocktails, live music and gourmet sandwiches under the picturesque location.
