Tamer Mahmoud, the former Director of Operations for The Lure Group, and Ron Rodrigo, owner and operator of Rated R management own Lost Spirits, which opened in November 2022. The new hotspot to the neighborhood is a high-energy cocktail bar with all of the glamour of the past, and a Prohibition Era 1920s-inspired drink menu. We stopped by for a fun-filled night with our fellow media professionals. The invite-only group enjoyed signature drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Lost Spirits has a very sophisticated menu, which includes signatures and classic cocktails, wine, beer, and small plates utilizing locally sourced produce (from Union Square Market).
My favorites were the ‘None Of Your Beeswax’ cocktail, which consisted of rye whiskey, barenjager honey liqueur, lemon, ginger beer, and Angostura bitters. Another favorite was the ‘Down With BPP’, a delicious mix of bourbon, pear, pistachio orgeat, lemon, and cinnamon. These two cocktails were a great way to kick off the evening, before diving into the food menu. Speaking of which, of the foods, I did get to try, my absolute standouts were the Grilled Dry Rub Wings and Lamb Lollipops. I wish I had those wings during the Superbowl! The food menu also includes something for everyone like burgers and tacos.
The evening’s soundtrack was provided by guest DJ Greg Grooves in the venue’s large backroom. The warm and inviting space features exposed brick throughout, Edison light bulbs strung over reclaimed wood from high ceilings, and leather banquets with large flat-screen screen tvs throughout with space, perfect for an intimate event of 100 guests.
