Cloudy Bay Unveils 2014 Sauvignon Blanc

by Desha Winborne

Last week we caught up with our dear friends from Cloudy Bay for the official unveiling of their 2014 Vintage Sauvignon Blanc.  The party was held on a trendy rooftop overlooking NYC.  The spectacular view and lush surroundings made the perfect escape to enjoy Cloudy Bay’s exquisite white wine. A DJ provided a smooth mix for the soundtrack as quests sipped the imported beverage.  Thanks in part to a great harvest season the wine is a shining testament to Cloudy Bay’s commitment to quality and taste.

Review: Little Town NYC

by Desha Winborne

The Breakdown:

Location: 118 East 15th Street

Cuisine: American with a local flair

Items: 3 Drinks, 2 appetizers, 3 sandwiches

Cost: (With 20% tip)

Best Dish: You simply have to try the wings, and if sauce isn’t your thing then opt for the clam strips, you won’t be disappointed

Overall:  This place is great for a night out and a quick bite with friends. It can be a date spot but not for a first date, it can get a bit noisy.

The energy was palpable at the 12th Annual NYC Plate by Plate Tasting Benefit at the Metropolitan Pavillion on Friday. Every year, Project by Project, a national volunteer organization partners with a different non-profit and builds a campaign focused on fundraising (the Plate by Plate benefit), community outreach and public awareness. This year, the proceeds went to support its 2010 partner, Hamilton-Madison House, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing health and social programs to the Asian immigrant community in NYC.

Toasts and Tastings with Shecky’s

by Suzanne Tran

The bar was set high as Shecky’s rolled out their first event at the Altman Building this past Tuesday and Wednesday. Shecky’s is best known for Girls Night Out – their fabulous shopping and beauty events held throughout the year in all major cities including LA, Miami, and DC. Sadly, we have to report they missed the mark this time around even though there were some great finds.
