G-Star Raw Fall 2011

by Desha Winborne

Since its inception in the late 80’s G-Star has been a trend setting innovator. Before them there was no place for “luxury” in a denim line.  Each year they push the boundaries of what can be expected from a denim line.  The palette here was comprised of  olive, dark denim blue and some  “camouflage”  inspired prints,  this  complimented the military inspired details and modern cuts. G-Star Raw‘s Fall 2011 collection is a masterpiece of world class tailoring and cutting edge style.

The snow is finally thawing here in NYC, and with its passage comes the realization that warm weather is just over the horizon.  Visions of cute flats and flirty sandals dance through my head as I dream of finally packing these winter things away.  We were pleased and honored to find ourselves invited to the grand opening celebration for “Call it Spring’s” satellite store in JC Penny’s Manhattan Mall location.

Elie Tahari Fall 2011

by Desha Winborne

Every year we look forward to fashion week. Despite our privileged grumblings about waiting in line, crashers and irate PR people we still get excited entering the tents at the start of the season. The celebrity sightings and interesting booths are always a welcome sight. However by day 3, “fashion fatigue” starts to set in.

Toni Francesc Fall 2011

by Desha Winborne

My first experience with Toni Francesc was just a few short months ago in September.  The inaugural season for fashion week’s new locale, Lincoln Center, was the perfect setting to discover this fashion week rookie.

Fashion Week kicked off with one of the most fun-to-watch shows of the season. Red Dress Collection started the festivities with a star-studded line up of beautiful women in equally beautiful attire. In keeping with the organization’s commitment to highlighting inspiring women from all age ranges, notoriety, and sizes, this year’s models did not disappoint. Patti Labelle, Linda Gray, and Julianne Hough were just a few who lent their talents to the event.
