With insane clown sightings and costumes shops popping up all over New York City, Halloween seasons is in full throttle. We recently had the chance to check out two of the scariest haunted houses the city has to offer. They’re literally on two different sides of Manhattan, so we’ve got you covered. First, we stopped by The Uninvited: Awakening, a thrilling experience brought to you by our friend Michele Ware of Hoodwinked Escape and veteran producer and haunt designer, Dalton M. Dale. The Uninvited: Awakening is a site-specific theater installation located in and utilizing the cellar level of the historic Graham Court building, which once served as stables for the Manhattan elite.

New York City nightlife in the 70’s was as the kids say, Lit. Nightclubs and exclusive lounges littered the city and despite the crime and poverty that plagued much of the city party goers always found a place to be. The night scene attracted ambitious creative people who met and mingled enjoying drinks and good food.

Bacon is a natural food enhancer, it approves just about anything you add it to. No one knows the power of bacon better than the good people who organize The Great Big Bacon Picnic, an annual feast for bacon lovers. This year’s event was held on September 24th and 25th and boasted a lineup of over 100 vendors, each one offering a unique dish of bacon or pork belly.

This week we stopped by one of New York’s most talked about dining experiences, Sushi Roxx. After getting a glimpse of the restaurant on The Real Housewives of New York City, we couldn’t wait. The trendy Japanese inspired dinner theater and club hybrid just celebrated their one year anniversary and is already planning lots of surprises for years to come. Their latest major announcement is a partnership with Karina Smirnoff, you may know her from being an award-winning dancer and perfecting her moves on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Smirnoff has signed on board to choreograph the fourth performance installment called “ROXX:RELOADED” at Sushi Roxx. She brings 20 years of experience to make it the biggest and best show to-date. During multiple dinner seating’s, guests will be invited to a nightly spectacle where the wait-staff seamlessly slip from servers into the spotlight and “Flash Mob” to select songs.

The season of good weather is coming to a close for New Yorkers. Soon we’ll be trading our flip flops for boots and complaining about the bracing cold. Luckily there are a few weeks of decent weather left to take advantage of. Over the next few weeks, you can make the most of the time we have left by cruising down the picturesque Hudson River Valley with Classic Harbor Line. We took a relaxing cruise up the Hudson River with Classic Harbor Line for their inaugural sail. We were on their chic and retro Manhattan Yacht. This Great Gatsby inspired vessel took us for a long leisurely trip from Manhattan to Poughkeepsie, NY. The voyage is a 4.5-hour excursion straight to Upstate NY, followed by a 3-hour self-guided tour of Poughkeepsie and then a sunset dinner cruise.

Location: 40 East 20th Street NY, NY

Cuisine: Mexican

Best Dish: The Queso Fundido was as amazing as any cheese lover could imagine. Thick gooey cheese and spicy chorizo in a sizzling platter how could you go wrong? If you prefer sweets to cheese, the churro bowl is the right choice. The warm churro and cold ice cream are a delicious combination.

Overall: A chic sexy space with sumptuous Mexican fare and an impressive assortment of Mezcal and Tequilas. The right space for date night or mingling with other sexy singles.
