L.A.M.B. Spring/Summer 2011 | Gwen Stefani Keeping It Funky and Fresh
No tornado could stop Gwen Stefani. Not during Fashion Week.
Closing out New York Fashion Week, Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. runway show packed the Theater in Lincoln Center on Thursday night, amidst a damaging storm and tornado that touched down in the city that evening. The show brought out stars such as
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week | Nicholas K Spring/Summer 2011
This fashion season kicked off with the label, NICHOLAS K, at the new locale, the BEAUTIFUL Lincoln Center. It is the first time Nicholas K has shown. Nicholas K is the brother and sister team of Chris and Nicholas Kunz. This season the collection is military-inspired mixed with the downtown look.
Isaac Mizrahi Spring 2011 | Xeroxing His Way Down The Runway
Issac Mizrahi always likes to have a laugh.
On the seats for the Issac Mizrahi, Spring/Summer 2011 show was Mizrahi’s show notes, quirkily titled IM Xerox. The invitation itself looked like a Xerox, broken down and blurry, which was only an indication of what was to come on the runway.
Toni Francesc Spring/Summer 2011
Toni’s theme for Spring 2011 entitled “Urban Forest” combines wood elements with soft fabrics for a stunning contrast in textures. The majority of this collection contained sheer fabrics draped in unexpected, instantly chic ways. The concept for the season reflects a desire to get back to nature and embrace our natural surroundings. Wood is used throughout the collection as an accent as well as in jewelry such as this large necklace worn with this beautifully draped layered blouse and matching pant ensemble.
NYFW | Callula Lillibelle Spring 2011
In the heart of New York’s Theater district, a stones throw from fashion avenue, in a studio, far far (okay maybe not so far) away from the chaos of Lincoln Center, Melanie
Tibi’s 2011 Spring collection reflected the laid back ease that often follows the shift in seasons. Bright happy colors and airy fabrics dominated the runway scene. The silhouettes were decidedly less fussy than autumn and created to provide comfort as well as style. Tibi’s spring forecast is dominated by mod dresses and playful rompers. The color palate whilst mostly neutrals was accented by bright tangerine orange and an occasional lilac or blue toned piece. We loved the bright yellow of this spaghetti strapped jumpsuit. The cut of the pant and ease of the bust are flattering and chic.
