Designer extraordinaire Carlos Campos is set to debut his Spring 2012 collection on September 11th during New York Fashion Week. Here is a sneak peek sketch of the new collection. Campos has a clear image of the man wearing his garments: “I like to think of him as a clean rock star”. He envisions his target female as someone who is “successful, aggressive and has her own personal style”. We couldn’t agree more. We will have a full runway report following the show.

Perhaps the Mayan’s were wrong.  Could it be the end they saw for 2012 as simply the elimination of  “Skinny” in menswear? Calvin Klein’s latest collection presented at Milan Fashion Week, denotes the return of loose comfortable cuts in menswear.  The collection featuring Klein’s trademark neutral palette and tailored style showed a lack of the form fitting styles of the last few seasons.  Male models donned below the knee cropped trousers and casual fit straight legged denim. The skater chic look of the last few years were all but forgotten with the newest looks.

Lands’ End 2011 Fall Collection celebrated its mastery in flirting with a Classic American feel with a modern twist. The play on autumn and primary colors was a beautiful mix that will emit a festive exuberance during those dreary winter days. It separated the retailer from most of what’s to come this season leaving man, woman, and child with an eager need to own everything on display.

With a subtle nod to the era of its conception, the bohemian 70’s, American Eagle Outfitters presented an homage to classic American style. The Fall 2011 preview held at its herald square showroom featured Men’s as well as Women’s lines. Invited guests enjoyed complimentary breakfast themed hor’deuvers and beverages whilst perusing the massive collection of pieces.

Fall 2011 is the year of the sharp dressed man.  Bow ties, blazers and ties were prominent on the runways and at the previews giving birth to  a more tailored man than we’ve seen in quite some time.  Lands’ End Canvas finds itself on trend with its 2011 offering of many chic pieces.  Held in its Midtown showroom JSD
