May is National Burger Month. We kicked off this year’s festivities with a trip to Harlem Shake. Since opening in May of 2013, Harlem Shake has earned a fan base that started with its neighbors and has since branched out to the outer boroughs and beyond. Burger lovers from all over flock to the retro eatery, to enjoy the sumptuous menu of burgers, shakes, and sandwiches. The vibe at “Shake” mirrors the coolness of its surroundings. Harlem is known for its artistry and affluence, and Harlem Shake embodies the spirit of Harlem with its stylish decor and welcoming energy.

Review: Kurry Qulture

by Desha Winborne

Location: 36-05 30th Avenue

Cuisine: Indian

Best Dish: The olive garlic naan was sensational but the Bhuna Goat was the star. The meat was fork tender smothered in the sauce for a luxurious mouth feel. If you don’t do goat you may want to reconsider, or just go with the Goan Shrimp. The shrimp were just as tasty.

Price: $$

Overall: A casual but trendy space for your next foodie adventure. Kurry Qulture is the space to expose a novice to the flavors of India. The food is straightforward and some dishes can be customized to your spice tolerance. A great advantage when exploring new things. Most importantly it is the best in the boro, why not start at the top?

Chefs Club Counter Opens in SoHo

by xoJohn

Last night, Chefs Club Counter opened its doors on the iconic corner of Spring and Lafayette with a special VIP preview of the first “fine-fast” concept brought to life by entrepreneur Stephane De Baets, the Belgian entrepreneur behind the game-changing restaurant group, Chefs Club. Hundreds of hungry foodies packed the posh eatery for a first look and taste. The VIP crowd sipped on fine wines, like Ben Watts’ Watts Up Rosé, while sampling the menu. Speaking of the menu, everything was quite tasty but our favorites were the JG Burger Sliders, Duck Rice, Chicory Pizzas, and the Eggslut Crostini. They are definitely a must-have when you stop by. So who are the rockstar chefs making up this delicious menu? Jean-Georges Vongerichten, George Mendes, Linton Hopkins, Magnus Hansson, and Eggslut’s Alvin Cailan.

Location: 1 West 67th Street

Cuisine: Italian

Best Dish: We are torn between the “Gnudi” with its delectable buttery sauce and the Paccheri tender bits of pork and expertly prepared pasta.  Both dishes were sublime. The Gnudi was smooth and buttery and the Paccherri hearty and comforting. We highly recommend adding both to your foodie bucket list.

Overall: The Leopard at des Artistes is an elegant space framed by a series of artful murals. Its aestetic appeal is evenly matched by it impeccable service and delicious menu. The venue is a grand space for your next special event, an important date night or a treat for your favorite foodie.
