As the only Mexican designer being featured at New York Fashion Week Men’s, Ricardo Seco’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection focuses on contemporary Mexico while drawing inspiration from the country’s bold and unique culture and history. Stark, dramatic black provides a foundation upon which Seco builds a vibrant line that plays with color, texture, luxury, and glamour. In this, his 9th collection, (titled “TIME”), Ricardo Seco combines the richness of Mexican culture with its new contemporary sophistication.

Amigos Restaurant & Bar (Review)

by Desha Winborne

Location: 2888 Broadway, btw 112th and 113th  New York, NY 10025

Cuisine: Mexican

Best Dish: Surprisingly the best dish was the Que Pasta. The rich sauce and spice was an unexpected treat.

Overall: Casual easy atmosphere and great food. This is a good choice for a low key dinner with friends or a casual night out.

We ventured out to Morningside Heights in search of something tasty and found it at Amigos, a quaint Mexican restaurant and bar. The decor is vibrant with red and white checkered tablecloths and colorful artwork displayed on the walls. The venue is surprisingly large with seating outside, near the bar, and at the rear. Bar seating is cozy and inviting; great for mingling with other patrons. For a more intimate meal, seating at the rear provides a larger area with the distance between parties and communal tables for larger groups. The menu is playful and fun with a mixture of traditional Mexican dishes and barbecue favorites.

Skinnygirl Expands With Two New Additions

by xoJohn

Skinnygirl has certainly come a long way since Bethenny Frankel created the now recognizable brand a few years ago. Since its inception, Skinnygirl has added several wines and spirits to its already impressive catalogue. Now comes two new additions that you will be sure to love. The newest gals in town are the Skinnygirl Spicy Lime Margarita and Skinnygirl Pinot Noir. As wine lovers, we definitely enjoyed the Pinot Noir and can’t wait to pair it with a succulent filet mignon or braised chicken. We would recommend pairing the Spicy Lime Margarita flavour with a nice fish taco or just about any Mexican dish. Chip and Guac anyone?

SVEDKA Vodka is stepping their game up by adding two new additions to their already impressive category, SVEDKA Grapefruit Jalapeño, and SVEDKA 100 Proof. At the launch event, cocktail enthusiast and journalist gathered at Tortilla Flats for a sampling of the two.

SVEDKA Grapefruit Jalapeño

If you’re into a spicy/sweet cocktails, like most consumer, this would be the one to try. The combination of sweet and tart, with hot and spicy is pure perfection and smooth! Pair this drink with some good ole Mexican food.

Location: 135 West 45th St

Cuisine: American Diner

Items: 2 appetizers, 4 cocktails, 3 entrees, 2 desserts

Best Dish: The burger is hands down one of the very best in the city. The bun is soft and fresh and the meat moist and flavorful  The candied bacon is an incredible add-on that must be experienced.

Overall: A delightful casual atmosphere with good food and a friendly fun staff.

Sometimes the best meals are just outside your hotel room. Some of the best hotels in the city are also home to the best restaurants and bars in New York. Last week we had the pleasure of visiting he newly revamped Bar 54 and T-45 Restaurant in the impressive Hyatt Times Square. The hotel is just a few small steps from the middle of Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue shopping and deep in the heart of the busiest area in all of NYC. The Hyatt has over 400 guest rooms stretched out over 54 stories. Though I am sure the rooms are luxurious we were there to eat drink and be merry.

Anejo Takes on Tribeca with Milagro

by Ekua Musumba

From the moment you walk in you can immediately feel the energy of Mexico’s premier spirit Tequila come to life. We stopped in to experience Anejo newest location, with great treats from Chef Angelo Sosa and Milagro Tequila. Anejo has been known for its authentic yet rustic Mexican style and heritage. For this location in particular, they surely did not disappoint. The decor is just lovely, warm and inviting. We marveled at the chandeliers and over exposed brick walls. We were greeted with refreshing cucumber and lemon Milagro infused cocktails and mingled with the likes of Angie Martinez from Power 105.

Short films are one of my favorite parts of the Tribeca Film Festival. Every year the festival shows up with a new assortment of quirky interesting heart wrenching films for the film buff with the short attention span. Though I truly enjoy full length films its nice to get the whole story in under an hour. The schedule was jam packed with great shorts this year, here’s a few of our favorite stand outs:
