Conceptual and daring, the collection featured a futuristic vision of biker chick chic.

Designers Baruni, Rebeca Tiago, Antonia Paris, Riza Manalo and Castro-Rojas presented their individual Fall/Winter 2012 collections in a group show on February 9 at the Alvin Ailey Studio in Manhattan as part of Nolcha Fashion Week: New York. Each designer’s vision and philosophy of glamour, sophistication, structure and self-expression was showcased via their collections.

Baruni surprised with colorful textured head scarves that provided a unique accent to flirty skirts and tailored jackets. Tiago’s pieces highlighted lace and polka dots while Manalo’s collection incorporated interesting architectural elements of over-sized zippers and wire bustle structures. Paris juxtaposed black tailored pieces punctuated with punches of color and Castro-Rojas featured rough, nubby textures that combined plaid and tweed patterns.

“Silhouette Bride” was the theme of Turkish designer, Seckin Ilker’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection at Nolcha Fashion Week: New York on February 9 at the Alvin Ailey Studio. In this collection of evening wear and bridal gowns, Ilker takes a very personal approach in breaking traditional notions of what walking down the aisle should look like.
