For
Sherri’s runway show may good use of the audience’s time. Her collection simultaneously looked back as well as ahead. Opening the show with moving taped remarks by Martin Luther King in honor of Black History month, Sherri’s pieces showcased the fashion influences of the 70’s and 80’s through a modern lens.
Her stylized, form fitting black and black/white dresses combined cut-outs and statement zippers, while maintaining their romantic side with drappy attached hoods. Exaggerated peter pan collars on jump suites, powerful prints and eye popping accessories such as an-the-shoulder over-sized pocket watch on a plaid suite, highlight Sherri’s vision that women should cherish who they are.
Sheri has worked with Beyoncé and Tina Knowles. The goal of her Fall/Winter 2012 collection is to help every woman feel that the line is “just like me.”
