Lucio Castro fall ’14 joined the boys club at Industria studios and presented its best take of “Broke Back Mountain Goes to the City.” Laugh if you want, but the casually refined collection might be on to something.

Layered flannels, sporty polo shirts, blazers, and cardigans anchored the collection but the one piece that ups the ante – a remarkably tailored quilted black jacket. Paired with a casual pant and Midwest-inspired fedora, the quilted black jacket is one of the best jackets of the season.

I know that proper fall ’14 collections are being presented but I’m already tired of the color palettes being used – everyone will be wearing black, white, blue, and various hues of gray in the upcoming season. I guess we will all deal with it.

Menswear designer Carlos Campos is a visionary who never disappoints, and the brand’s fall ’14 collection is no different. One of the best in the business jolted the start of NY Fashion Week, with a style that looks like the male version of “American Horror Story: Coven” – and I’m here for it.

Menswear kicked open the New York Fashion Week fall ’14 door a day early, and “attempted” to warm the frigid air surrounding NYC. Bespoken led the charge with “Tailored Vandals,” the brand’s take on sexy euro-rocker chic – with an emphasis on chic. The Fayed brothers, Liam and Sammy, have developed a new line that resembles darkness of a business-focused glam rocker. Someone tell Jack White of the band, The White Stripes, to listen up and pay attention.

Designer and founder Ernest Sabine’s collection of Ernest Alexander fall ’14 should be called “50 Shades of Board Track Racing,” due to the direct inspiration of clothes from the popular 1910’s U.S. motorsport, along with the variety of grey tones used to pull off the modern-retro feel.

Okay. So, I’m not the sportiest guy around but I do work on keeping it sexy while rocking the latest fashion. I often have an internal battle about leaving my apartment to go to the gym. Sometimes, the inner lazy-kid wins and I stay home. Nautilus Inc. recognized the dilemma that many of us face and sought out to listen to consumer insight for a solution. The result – the innovative fitness leader took to New York Fashion Week to debut new Bowflex and Schwinn products for people just like me.
