In part with Details magazine, RAIF turned the New York Public Library at Lincoln Center into a port for the stylish man. All cashmere everything sums up RAIF fall/winter 2013, the menswear collection by designer Raif Adelberg.
The super-luxe collection hit a stride in the brand’s third collection with cardigan sweaters, double-breasted peacoats, blazers and drop-crotch trousers. Black, winter tundra white and earthy brown tones dominated the collection while muted shades of red and blue were mixed in for fun.
RAIF balanced the luxury feel of the collection with an uncharacteristic touch of edgy, bad-ass flare. Opulent sweaters and shirts were offset with the word “destroy” across the back of the garments. In an attempt to push the envelope further, some garments had an expletive version of “I love you” embroidered on to the design – talk about a statement piece.
The highlight of the collection had nothing to do with the actual clothes. RAIF partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to give those suffering with sickle cell anemia a chance to live out their dreams as runway models. Super-luxe designs with jaw-dropping expletive embroidery and granted wishes of those suffering from illness. That’s impactful fashion.
RAIF can be found at Bergdorf Goodman and independent boutiques across the country.
