NYC’s Newest Hotspot: Monarch Rooftop Lounge

by xoJohn

We have been hearing so many great things about Monarch Rooftop Lounge. I first heard of the establishment when I was invited to attend a Mercedes Benz Fashion Week after-party but sadly could not make it. Thankfully just a few short weeks later I got a second chance and made sure to clear my schedule.

Movie Review: Gravity

by Desha Winborne

Director: Alfonso Cuaron

Writer: Alfonso and Jonas Cuaran

Cast: Sandra Bullock and George Clooney

Medical Engineer Ryan Stone (Bullock) tries desperately to survive after an accident leaves her and astronaut Matt Komwalski (Clooney) adrift in Space.  Miles above Earth there is no gravity, no oxygen and nothing to hold on to.  Being set adrift in the infinite void of space is a terrifying thought. Despite its Sci-Fi implications the film is an accurate account of realistic space travel. There are no aliens or strange ghostly figures haunting vessels, just the real life terror of the unknown. For 90 minutes viewers are transformed into passengers on a harrowing journey of survival. In Imax 3D the clarity and expansive screen give the illusion that you are floating in the vast darkness of space.

Restaurant Review: Harding’s NYC

by Desha Winborne

Location: 32 East 21st street btw Broadway and Park

Cuisine: American Fine Dining

Items: 2 Appetizers, 3 Entrees, 4 Cocktails, 2 desserts

Best Dish: As starters go you cannot go wrong with the stuffed peppers or the fig toast Both options are absolutely amazing. Each has unique savory and sweet components that will make your mouth water. For an entree, you must try the short ribs. The portion is just enough to be filling without feeling overstuffed. The meat is flavorful and cooked to perfection, it is a must-have.

Overall: A surprisingly relaxed, inviting space filled with helpful happy employees. This could quickly become your favorite date night or happy hour space.

Items: 2 cocktails, 4 appetizers, 3 entrees, 2 side dishes, 2 desserts

DK Bar

Best Dish: You must have the steak at Delmonico’s.  If you are a meat lover this is the place to indulge it is by far one of the very best in the city.  If seafood is more your thing you cannot go wrong with the Lobster Newberg, it is one of the most decadent dishes I have covered so far and absolutely beautiful down to the very last morsel.
