Last week the enCourange Kids Foundation held its second annual serving up smiles soiree. The party was held at Current, one of the city’s most sought after waterfront venues.
The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) is the world’s leading philanthropic organization funding and accelerating prostate cancer research. The organization has raised more than $660 million and provided funding to more than 2,000 research programs at more than 200 cancer centers and universities. Over the weekend, PCF hosted its annual gala at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, NY. The event’s Challenge Research Award raised over $3.5 million in support of the foundation’s work. The gala supported the 12th Annual Charles Evans PCF Pro-Am Tennis Tournament, named after the successful entrepreneur who constantly turned tragic events throughout his life into philanthropic causes.
The annual ESPYS awards, honoring the best in sports, is no stranger to Los Angeles; in fact, as one of the premiere events of the year on the West Coast, GBK Productions brought the celebration and style to the occasion hosting their signature, annual celebrity gift lounge honoring ESPY Award Nominees and Presenters, as well as throwing a celebrity poker tournament to benefit Los Angeles area charities.
In true fashion, the lounge included a mix of sporty electronics and lifestyle brands, as well as food and music, allowing attendees to enjoy while also feeling celebrated.
The 12th Annual A Hamptons Happening marked the 40th Anniversary of the founding of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) by noted oncologist and cancer researcher Samuel Waxman, MD. The event is one of the most attended events in the Hamptons where guests gather to celebrate such an amazing organization. The benefit took place at the residence of Maria and Kenneth Fishel and hosted 40 of the top chefs and restaurants in New York City and the Hamptons. CBS 2 News anchor Chris Wragge served as the host for the 6th consecutive year, while Sandra Lee received honors for her charitable work. Other honorees included New York Times best-selling author and breast cancer survivor; Jayma Cardoso, Founder of the Surf Lodge in Montauk; and Deirdre Quinn, CEO of the luxury fashion company Lafayette 148 New York.

Last week, the Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area (BGCBA) hosted an exclusive party for their 13th Annual Summer Beach Ball that will take place on June 18th. The evening was hosted by Alexandra Lebenthal, Jay Diamond and Amy and Ken Pollinger at the Pollinger’s home, guests included the Club’s Executive Director Sybil Mimy Johnson, host committee members Bruce Pask, Men’s Fashion Director at Bergdorf Goodman, Terence Noonan – producer and author, and Debbie and Phil Grucci – Fireworks by Grucci. Attendees including Margaret Isa Butler, and America’s Next Top Model alumni Xiomi Frans-Cuber and her husband Shane Cuber also showed their support.

Jordan, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kristen Johnston, Fear The Walking Dead’s Lorenzo Henrie, David Henrie, Wayne Knight, O-Town’s Jacob Underwood and Trevor Penick, Dream’s Melissa Schuman, The Original’s Haley Ramm, Taylor Spreitler, Sophie Tweed-Simmons, Elisabeth Harnois, Grandfathered’s Kelly Jenrette, Ray Donovan’s Heather McComb, Lupus LA Ambassador Meredith Monroe,country singer Brian Hughes, Lupus LA Ambassador Ali Hillis and more! Ryan Cabrera and Howie Day gave special performances throughout the night. The event raised over $400,000 for lupus research and local patient programs.
Each year Lupus LA presents awards to individuals who strive to make the world better for those living with lupus, whether it is through research, charitable gifts, spreading awareness and more. This year’s recipient of the Loop Award was comedy actress Kristen Johnston, who is also a Lupus LA Ambassador and has helped increase awareness and raise important dollars for research. Her Third Rock From The Sun co-starJoseph Gordon-Levitt presented the award. Additional award recipients included Meredith Davidow Pegula, who received the Daniel J. Wallace Founders Award along with Dr. Paul Hackmeyer who received the Medial Visionary Award for his exemplary dedication to those living with lupus. Event chairs included Jim Gianopulos, chairman and CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment, Nancy Utley, President of Fox Searchlight Pictures and Lauren Shuler Donner, acclaimed film producer.

Hillsides, which was founded 103 years ago and serves more than 6,200 children and families throughout Los Angeles County. The charitable organization held its annual gala which hosted a slew of philanthropists, supporters, notables like Dr. Drew Pinsky. The Symphony of Dreams gala raised $408,000. The glamorous evening was held at the posh Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. More than 400 guests packed the ballroom for a wonderful night, just before the Academy Awards were to take place the following day. Before the program started, the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, Young Men’s Ensemble serenaded guests as they entered the hall. Attendees enjoyed cocktails and bites, all while bidding on silent auction items.
