As bloggers go Perez Hilton is one of the most notorious. Often recognized for his sharp tongue and take no prisoners approached to gossip he is more often seen as a social pariah than a patron saint. Though many may not know of his softer side thousands witnessed first hand the extent of his reach, as he pulled together an amazing charity event in NYC’s Hammerstein ballroom.  The evening aptly titled “One Night in NYC” is a partnership with Hilton and the GLSEN to raise awareness and raise funds to help prevent bullying in schools.  The concert sponsored by OpenSky, Music Choice’s SWRV TV, Brita FilterForGood Music Project, SOUL by Ludacris, popchips, ZICO: Pure Coconut Water, TY KU, UV Vodka, Asahi Beer, and BlogAds featured an amazing line up of talented musicians.

Last year there were over 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. alone. This staggering number is a small glimpse in how far research efforts and modern medicine have gone in the last decade. Though progress has been made there is still much work to be done.

Every year some new celebrity throws their hat into the fashion ring. Relying solely on a sudden popularity or group of talented but faceless individuals to pull off their collections.  Rachel Zoe had no such luck.

One presentation I never miss is Callula Lillibelle, a personal favorite for its inventive use of color and prints. The stellar collection often draws inspiration from legendary actresses and notable screen sirens of bygone eras. In viewing the offering for Spring 2012 I found myself thinking of  Marilyn Monroe, Sandra Dee, and the legendary Lucille Ball. The collection featured soft delicate colors and ladylike details.  Also prominent throughout the collection were polka dots. The whimsical print weaved its way throughout the collection adding a touch of merriment throughout.

One of the most stunning pieces was this beautiful mint creme gown. The full skirting and cinched waist are a knock out combination. In keeping with the Lillibelle tradition of combining old and new, pops of orange were added.

This surprising mix of dots was an interesting instantly wearable look.  We loved the playful print slacks against the mix media dots.

We loved this 2 piece combination.  The color and detailing are superb and uniquely Lillibelle.

As collections go Lillibelle has once again provided the fashion hungry masses with a banquet of style sophistication and fun.
