This January we attended The New York Times Travel Show at NYC’s Jacob Javitz Center. The NYT Travel Show brings travel agencies, tourism boards, media, and the public together for a fun and educational weekend. The event allows travelers from all walks of life to network and gather information on a wide variety of destinations, tours, products and other travel-related businesses. Each of the booths is manned by an industry professional eager to help with your leisure or business travel needs. The convention center was divided into distinct sections each with a central theme or locale, allowing guests to navigate the over 600 exhibitors with ease.

Best Dish: Tagliatelle was incredible. The Miller’s Pasta was amazing but the Steak Diane was the clear favorite. It was dramatically presented with a flourish of bright flames and a deliciously decadent cut of beef.

Overall: A sophisticated eatery that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Prepare to be served properly and well fed. Allora Ristorante is an ideal location for your next milestone celebration or date night with someone special.

Best Dish: The Chicken Tokka naan was stupendous. The chicken was moist and well seasoned and the naan soft and fluffy, a winning combination.

Recently, we stopped by the I Love New York 2017 Winter Media Marketplace at Tavern on the Green. At the event, we got a chance to learn more about the tourism in New York, as well as, meet with New York State regional and ski area representatives for the upcoming Winter season. Guests also got a chance to indulge in locally sourced delicacies. When most people think of New York, a restless metropolis with incredible nightlife and award-winning entertainment immediately come to mind. New York has much more to offer. As city dwellers are often in search of a temporary escape from the bright lights and fast pace. The showcase helped to broaden our staycation horizons with a collection of lodges, resorts and picturesque towns right in our own backyard.
