I have interviewed many young rising artists, who through their passion for their artistry and determination in the music business have inspired me in my own professional and personal life. Will Roush is another artist I can add to that list.
It’s a New Year! You have made and possibly broken you’re New Year’s resolutions. That’s ok! You still have those party shoes on. New York’s Nublu is always bringing exciting music to our ears from all over the world. So if you are yearning to burn a whole in those party shoes, head to Nublu starting Friday January 14th and every second Friday of the month as they launch Let’s Boogaloo.
My iPod is over flowing with new music and just in time as I begin to plan my New Year’s Eve playlist. No matter how big or small the party is, the playlist has to keep the party going way past the ball dropping in Times Square. If you are searching for a party starter aside from your typical Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, or even Justin Bieber, you must add JRandall to that list. His song Ooh La La featuring Akon, is sure to get people heading to the dance floor and celebrating the joy of the coming New Year.
As CMJ came to a close, the real marathon began as I scrambled to catch as many concerts as I possible could. Lucky for me I only needed one artist to sum up my 2010 CMJ experience, Peter Hadar. I first came across Peter Hadar in 2008 on Love Will off of Ra-Re Valverde’s A Beautiful Mess album. His smooth voice made me take note of the singer/songwriter who as written for the likes of Joe, Carl Thomas, Eric Roberson, to name a few. With his single Full Time Lover, Peter is gearing up for the release of a new album Take Off Victoria expected out Spring 2011.

Anyone who has had the opportunity to engulf themselves into the CMJ Music Marathon can honestly say it’s almost like world traveling without needing an airplane. CMJ covers all music genres from all over the country and other parts of the world. One thing is for sure language may divide us, but music can always bring us to a common ground.
With every CMJ concert I attended, no matter the artist or genre, I walk away with a sense of renewed inspiration.
California’s Loomis & The Lust made a splash impression with the music goers of CMJ. The four-member band blend aspects of pop hooks and rock strings to create a light-hearted sound that is reminiscent of the 80s.
CMJ is all about what’s indie and fresh. It’s also not just about music and movies, but also underground fashion trends popping up as bands and artists from all over the world invades New York City.
