After finding success with their east village location, the owners of Le Petit Parisien bring their rustic sandwiches to midtown’s east side. Le Petite Parisien honors French cuisine in its simplest form with freshly made baguettes, imported cheeses, and quality meats. Their concept is an homage to the quaint little bistros of 1920’s Paris. The cafe is modeled after the intimate eateries, where authors and artists met to collaborate during France’s Annees Folles or Crazy Years. The sandwich is named after a famed French Newspaper. Vintage copies of the now defunct daily are artfully displayed as wall paper for their cozy counter. With just a few stools available guests often take their food to go those who do stay will relish in the scent of fresh baked bread and pastries wafting through the air.
The drool inducing scent comes from the mini bakery inside the shop. Le Petit bakes its own baguettes and pastries on the premises. Fresh baguettes roll out every few hours. All of the sandwiches on their delectable menu are made with the fresh crusty bread. The assortment is limited to a select few curated options. Each option is bursting with fresh robust flavors. The protein options include gourmet hams, foie gras, and smoked fish. For the vegetarian palate, an artichoke and kale option is also available. We highly recommend the Charles De Gaulle, a gourmet ham, and cheese option that features 16 months aged ham and creamy Fourme d’Ambert blue cheese. For a lighter option, the Jules Verne is available. This sandwich is the French equivalent to bagels and lox. It features tender smoked salmon, cream cheese, and dill. The sandwiches can be paired with a variety of specialty chips and beverages, including crispy truffle chips and champagne. While the weather permits we recommend dropping by and curating your own gourmet picnic basket and spending an afternoon enjoying nature in one of the city’s parks. Visit Le Petit Parisien today for a little taste of France. No Passport required.
Le Petit Parisien is open Monday to Friday 7.30 am to 9.00 pm and Saturday to Sunday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Le Petit Parisien is located at 251 East 53rd Street, New York, NY.
