It seems cell phone companies aren’t just about phones anymore. Laptops, netbooks and now tablets are the new norm in go anywhere do anything technology. The latest device seeking your hard earned dollars is T-Mobile’s G-Slate. The 4G tablet was unveiled in a lavish party at NYC’s 404 Restaurant. In T-mobile’s long standing tradition of hosting great launch parties, the venue was bought out for the evening and guests enjoyed complimentary cocktails, traveling trays of appetizers as well as a performance by turntable titans the Cataracs featuring Dev. Palm trees, beach balls and vender booths occupied the space adding a whimsical element to the festivities. The event titled “T-Mobile’s Innovation Retreat: Connecting is Relaxing” served as a showcase for all that s new at T-Mobile. Guests were invited to review some of the great new features and apps offered on the new device. The tablet goes one full leap beyond the capabilities currently available on Apple’s iPad.
T-Mobile G-Slate Features:
- HD Playback– The device plays videos and games in 1080p resolution. For the non techie that means it produces quality images in High Definition not unlike your home television. The device also had 3D playback in 780p resolution, you will need to utilize the included 3d frames to enjoy the full experience in the palm of your hand.
- Cameras– There are 2 cameras on the tablet, a 2mp front facing camera and a 5mp rear camera making the unit suitable for video chatting and calling. The cameras also have LED flash and the capability to record in 3D.
- Gaming- G-Slate comes preloaded with “Need For Speed: SHIFT” game as well as the EA sports store front. It also supports Adobe Flash Player. This feature is optimal as it has the ability to render high definition graphics faster boosting mobile performance
- Google– Since it is powered by google, consumers can enjoy the benefits of preloaded google content including google talk, google maps, YouTube, google search and google e-books.
- Tech Specs- The HD/3D display is about 9 inches. It has 9 hours of battery life when fully charged, 11.3 days of standby time, HDMI out which means you can hook the device up to any HD monitor to view your content. 32 GB of memory as well as
- Productivity- Workaholics rejoice, this grown-up “toy” has full corporate email and calendar support, Bluetooth connectivity and can go anywhere you go, international venues included.
The device is available for purchase through T-Mobile for just over $500 with a 2 year contract. For the less that savvy 24 hour tech support is also included. In addition to the latest in web devices T-Moblie also introduced “Bobsled” a new brand developed to streamline the ever evolving world of communication. Revelers at the shindig were invited to test out the Bobsled app, a user friendly program that allows you to leave voice messages on anyone’s Facebook wall. With the app words on the screen can now be audible for the world to hear just as it was back in the olden days when people actually called one another. All joking aside the app will make social networking a much more personal experience as Happy Birthdays, and other greetings can be made with your voice and shared with anyone across the globe, anyone with a Facebook account that is. The beauty of the program is you don’t have to be a T-Mobile customer to gain access nor do both parties have to have it in order to be utilized. Once business our minds were sufficiently engorged with the knowledge of T-Mobile’s latest innovations, and our palates please by trays of incredible edibles we treated our ears to the sounds of The Cataracs. The Berkely CA, duo served up a rousing set of bass thumping hip-hop and wowed the crowd with their smash hit “Like a G6” featuring the lovely Dev who was also in attendance.

Thanks for spending lots of time to write such a great review! I liked this cell phone due to of consisting Bluetooth2.1, Bluetooth keyboard, Wi-Fi connectivity and 32mb inbuilt flash memory.
