12 Fall-Inspired D’ussé Cocktails Everyone Must Try

by xoJohn

Launched in 2012, D’USSÉ (pronounced dew-say), made its debut back in 2012. We remember attending the launch party at 40/40 Nightclub in NYC and here we are, a few year’s later and D’USSE is still going strong. This ultra-premium cognac blends over 200 years of tradition with the modern inspiration of Cellar Master Michel Cassavecchia. Infamous for being Jay-Z’s liquor of choice, the result is a uniquely powerful, authentic cognac that starts off with distinguished intensity and then gives way to a pleasantly smooth, balanced finish. With exceptionally blended expressions including D’USSE VSOP and D’USSE XO, D’USSE lends itself to a variety of elegantly crafted rich, and complex cognac-based cocktails – just in time for the first nip of autumn’s chill. Now we know you don’t want to even think about cold temperatures but instead think about a refreshing beverage that will bring the heat of the Summer to you throughout the Fall season. Here are 12 premium cocktails to do just that:

As mixologists continue to push the envelope with wilder seasonal cocktail ingredients and as more people begin to explore Whiskey, a need has arisen for a Whiskey that is approachable enough for new Whiskey drinkers and versatile enough to be able to be mixed into an ever-widening array of cocktails.

Enter Manhattan Moonshine, a Whiskey that is aged for less than an hour, meaning that it does not have the heavier barrel flavors that make aged Whiskeys harder to mix and less approachable for new drinkers. No heavy barrel flavors mean that Manhattan Moonshine can be used as the base of any cocktail, replacing everything from Tequila in Margaritas to Vodka in Cosmopolitans.

Hornitos Halloween

by xoJohn

This post is sponsored by Hornitos® Tequila

Halloween in New York City is always a festive affair. The city hosts a slew of spooky events. The Annual Village Halloween parade is one of many highlights during Halloween. The parade itself is filled with amazing costumes, floats, and great performances. Before heading out to enjoy All Hallows’ Eve frenzy, I plan on hosting a more intimate affair with some close friends. Think of it as the calm before the storm if you will. Amongst my friends, I’m usually the go-to person for creating a delicious and festive drink for everyone. For Halloween, I’ve created the “Scream Cream.” The main ingredient for this beverage is Hornitos® Black Barrel, which is a premium aged Añejo tequila. It’s different than any other tequila I’ve consumed in the past, simply because of the hint of whiskey this flavor carries, and I also enjoy a good whiskey.

Happy Hour x Hornitos Tequila

by xoJohn

Happy Hour is a good ole tradition where folks hit up their favorite restaurant, bar, stadium, or state/county fair, for affordable alcoholic drinks, such as beer, wine, and cocktails. Sometimes free or discounted Hors d’oeuvres are offered as well. I personally love a good Friday afternoon Happy Hour, especially if my friends get out of work early for Summer Fridays. Since summer is winding down, I wanted to grab onto what’s left of it. During summer and Happy Hour, I often go for refreshing cocktails, nothing too strong or overbearing, because it’s too darn hot in New York City for any strong alcoholic beverages. During my recent vacation in Aruba, I fell in love with coconut water all over again. Imagine lounging on the white sandy beaches of Aruba and a hotel staffer hands you a fresh coconut with a straw in it. So good! To capture that moment, I wanted to create a delicious drink with coconut water and tequila, to make the ultimate Happy Hour cocktail. This cocktail had to be enjoyable enough for me and my friends to keep our minds off the cool fall weather that’s about to hit us on the east coast.

Spice Up Brunch With Tequila

by xoJohn

This post is sponsored by Hornitos® Tequila

Beautiful weather, great food, and good some elements for a good weekend brunch. Luckily I live in a city where brunch locations are plentiful with many options. My friends and I often search for the best brunch spots New York City has to offer. This includes a great location, preferably on a low traffic street, and great deals, like bottomless drinks.
