Hearing+Health+Foundation+Intimate+EveningThe hearing health foundation held its annual benefit last night at the legendary BB King’s Times Square. The evening began with passing hors devours and cocktails as guests viewed the silent auction’s offerings. Among the offerings were several designer handbags, exotic vacations and sports-themed packages.  Guests were invited to bid on these items as well as a few big-ticket items via live auction.  The event was hosted by actor Richard Kind, a major supporter of the organization.  Kind also served as emcee and introduced the star of the evening 80’s pop icon Cyndi Lauper.  Cyndi roused the crowd with spirited renditions of her classic hits including the playfully raunchy “She Bops”.

Cancer has claimed the lives of millions of people worldwide. It is a deadly killer and the great equalizer as it does not discriminate between class, race, or social standing. It is one of the leading causes of fatality the world over.  The war against this deadly illness involves a great deal of time, effort and research, all of which comes at a price that many who face it simply can not afford to face alone.  The Samuel Waxman Foundation is one of the leading organizations fighting for a cure.  Since 1976 they have raised more than 80 million in support of researchers world-wide. Though there have been great strides over all the war is far from over.
