Milly Spring/Summer 2013 Collection

by Yanni D

Since 2001, Milly by Michelle Smith has produced timeless silhouettes with smart, sexy and feminine flair. Her spring/summer 2013 collection continued with the same aesthetic. The collection encompassed sophisticated looks filled with bold colors and amazing prints. Neon colors such as green, yellow and coral were a common trend throughout the collection as well as cobalt blue, which has been a favorite these past few seasons. The prints incorporated were chic and tasteful with a slight edge and the base for most of the pieces were outlined in black and white.

In a sea of over-the-top trends, Tadashi Shoji always manages to stay true to his aesthetic. Whether it’s spring or fall you can always expect glamorous sophisticated dresses with a touch of sexiness. Next spring Tadashi literally will have you laced in the most flattering cocktail and red carpet-ready dresses. His spring collection spawned sweet colorful delicate laced dresses in rich blue’s, red’s, and orange hues. He even dabbled with prints by producing floor-length dresses in colorful ikat prints. When it comes to creating silhouettes that are flattering to a woman’s body Tadashi has that down pat and it was prevalent in his spring collection. He took a break from his signature ruching and draping and focused on more streamlined simplistic cuts.
