The New York Center for Children (NYCC) is a child-friendly Center, providing free, comprehensive evaluation and therapy services to victims of child abuse and their families. NYCC also offers professional training on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of child abuse. NYCC hosted its 24th Annual Spring Celebration Benefit at The Peninsula New York in New York City. NYCC celebrated 24 years of helping the most vulnerable children achieve their full potential. The annual benefit helps raise funds for the Center’s work in healing, prevention, and education.

The New York Center For Children (NYCC) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1995 with the support of the late Broadway producer Marty Richards and philanthropist Georgette Mosbacher, NYCC is a child-friendly Center, providing free, comprehensive evaluation and therapy services to victims of child abuse and their families. NYCC also offers professional training on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of child abuse. All of the programs and services to children and families at NYCC are completely free of charge.

The New York Center for Children (NYCC) raised approximately $140,000 at the 22nd Annual Spring Celebration Benefit. The annual benefit was held at Clement Restaurant at the Peninsula Hotel in New York City. The organization celebrated over 20 years of helping children who have experienced abuse achieve their potential. The event featured a Silent Auction where guests bid on coveted gifts and experiences, as well as a live jazz performance by Lucas Pino along with strolling magic by Ben Nemzer. Guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and an impressive silent auction to benefit the charity. Auction items included A Day of Beauty at Angelo David Salon, 18 Hole Golf Round For 4 at Scarsdale Golf Club, and 10 Mind & Body Classes at Exhale Spa.

I’ve been a nerd my entire life. Not so much the math science or history type but more of a pop culture enthusiast. Despite my self-proclaimed nerd status this was my very fist year attending New York Comic Con. Just as fashionistas must eventually find their way to fashion week, every nerd must someday venture to the amazing spectacle that is Comic Con. Not just for comic book fans, the event encompasses all things pop culture with exhibits that range from cosplay makeup to original artwork. As a noob to the scene, my first venture into the convention was a true learning experience. I’ll break it down into five simple rules:
