On Wednesday, I confronted a great enemy of mine…jeans at the holy grail of denim aka the Levi’s store in SoHo. Levi’s shut its doors to the public for the private launch of their first Women’s Global launch of Curve ID. The Curve ID seeks to alleviate many of women’s frustrations when it comes to jeans shopping by creating jeans “that focuses on shape rather than size.”

The bar was set high as Shecky’s rolled out their first event at the Altman Building this past Tuesday and Wednesday. Shecky’s is best known for Girls Night Out – their fabulous shopping and beauty events held throughout the year in all major cities including LA, Miami, and DC. Sadly, we have to report they missed the mark this time around even though there were some great finds.
The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Champions Summer Party

It was a night of inspiration earlier this week at the luxe Boom Boom Room where the Reeve Champions Summer Party was held. The fundraising event was organized by The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation’s Champions Committee representatives Alexandra Reeve Givens and Matthew Reeve (daughter and son of the late Christopher Reeve), Francesco Clark of Clark Botanicals, Elisa Lipsky-Karasz of Harper’s Bazaar and DIOR BEAUTY. Linda Wells (the editor-in-chief of Allure Magazine and actor Hayden Christensen (most recently in New York, I Love You and Takers) were also on hand to special guest host the evening’s festivities.
Carmen Marron’s independent film, Go For it!, several years in the making culminated during the screening this past week as part of the 2010 HBO New York International Latino Film Festival.
