Nebula is New York City’s Hottest Nightclub

by xoJohn

When you think about Times Square, you think of the flashy lights, shopping, and Instagramable moments, well now you can add nightclub to that list. Nebula is the newest and hottest nightclub in the area, located at 135 W. 41st Street. No expense or detail was spared in the creation of this spacious venue with a capacity of 700. Nebula has an incredible 5,500 square foot dance floor, 2,500 square feet mezzanine level, and 3,000 square foot lower level with three private club rooms, complete with their own dedicated bathrooms.

To celebrate the opening, owners Yang Gao and Richie Romero along with EMRG Media threw a special party on Thursday, November 4th, where attendees were able to get a taste of what Nebula has to offer, like the moveable ceilings and massive video panels. Guests enjoyed live DJ sets, cocktails, light bites, and a look at the immaculate decor. The evening also included two special surprise Broadway Plus performances by Storm Lever and Daniel Quadrino.

Nebula is the ultimate spot for any DJ looking to showcase their talents. The nightclub will host world-class DJs spanning the spectrum of electronic music, from underground trailblazers to stadium-filling superstars, establishing a homebase for nightlife and dance culture in NYC. It will all kickoff this weekend, starting Friday, November 5th with DJ Makj headlining. Followed by former NBA star turned DJ Rony Seikaly will spin on Saturday, November 6th. Up next, Duck Sauce will headline on Friday, November 12th and ZEDD will bring the house down at on Saturday, November 13th. Nebula will also host a massive Thanksgiving Eve dance party on Wednesday, November 24th with Luke Alexander spinning along with Jesse Rosen and Sasha Troy. Slate NY Gets An Upgrade

by xoJohn

Since 2000, Slate NY has been the go-to hot spot in the heart of Chelsea. It seems like every time I walk by, there is always a line of young partygoers eager to get inside. I’ve happened upon Slate a few times in recent years and had a good time. I was eager to see the new digs when I heard they were undergoing a $2 million dollar renovation. I would describe the new and improved Slate as an adult playground. The 16,000 square foot venue now has multiple private rooms, three bowling lanes, a karaoke room, a BYOB (Be Your Own Bartender) pouring station with 20 adult beverages on tap, and a 20-foot slide to get partygoers from the top floor to ground below without having to lift a foot.

New Hotspot: The VNYL – Vintage New York Lifestyle

by xoJohn

New York City nightlife in the 70’s was as the kids say, Lit. Nightclubs and exclusive lounges littered the city and despite the crime and poverty that plagued much of the city party goers always found a place to be. The night scene attracted ambitious creative people who met and mingled enjoying drinks and good food.

The 90’s were a great decade for pop culture. It was a simpler time, back when artists had to have talent and parties were more about having a good time and less about posting on Instagram and snapchat. We lived in the moment back then, engaging with our friends and not our phones. Saved By the 90’s brings back the fun of the decade with a totally rad dance party. The event is hosted by Webster Hall, one of New York’s most historic venues. Held in Webster Hall’s Marlin Room, the party gets started by DJ Suga Ray, spinning hit after hit from a list of the very best tracks from the 90’s. His set includes everything from The Backstreet Boys to Biggie Smalls. Once you’re drenched in sweat from dancing to your favorite tunes, get ready to sing along with the Bayside Tigers, a live cover band, with an amazing set list. We nearly lost our voices belting out hits by Green Day, The Spice Girls and Ace of Bass. In between sets we even got to sing along with some our favorite TV theme songs. French Prince of Bel-Air theme song had us shouting to the top of our lungs!

Nightlife Review: No. 8 NY

by Desha Winborne

Location: 357 West 16th Street

Cuisine: Lite Fair or small plates

Items: 4 small plates, 4 cocktails, 1 dessert

Best Dish: This was a toss-up between the amazing grilled cheese and the decadent Oreos.  If you love cheese you simply have to have the grilled cheese, it is everything you ever wanted in a grilled cheese sandwich. If sweets are your thing you can not miss the fried Oreos. These are not your carnival-style treats, these Oreos have been elevated to new heights. They are not greasy at all and arrive warm with a spice chocolate sauce for dipping.

Overall: A casual warm space to live out your sophisticated nightlife fantasies. No sagging pants allowed, this is a place for the grown and sexy.
