On Saturday, May 3rd, 2014, actor Bryan Greenberg and Microsoft will host the third annual brunch party to raise funds for The Olevolos Project at Gallow Green of the McKittrick Hotel, Home of Sleep No More, from 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Olevolos Project’s Scholarship Program and support the educational and affiliated needs of disadvantaged and orphaned students from the Olevolos Village of Tanzania. After being founded in 2007, The Olevolos Project continues to nurture a passion for learning and helps develop young village leaders through formal schooling, tutoring programs, and extra-curricular activities.

Earlier this week the uber talented Seth Meyers, alongside his wife Alexi came out to support Worldwide Orphans at their 9th Annual Gala in at Cipriani in NYC. Other notables included Elie Tahari, Diane von Furstenberg, Glamour Editor-In-Chief Cindi Leive, Ann Curry, Top Chef Master Sang Yoon, NY Jets David Nelson, Alison & Howard Lutnick, Sarah Hughes, Sara Ziff, Chris Del Gatto & Veronica Webb and many more. The evening honored exceptional Worldwide Orphans ambassadors including long-time supporter Diane von Furstenberg and Dr. Sophie Mengistu, WWO Ethiopia Country Director.
Since 1995, The Brotherhood/Sister Sol has provided long-term support services to 350 youth annually, who range in age from eight to twenty-two. The organization focuses on issues such as leadership development and educational achievement, sexual responsibility, sexism and misogyny, political education and social justice, Pan-African and Latino history and global awareness. The Brotherhood/Sister Sol’s theory of change is to provide multi-layered support, guidance, education and love to its members, to teach them to have self-discipline and form order in their lives, and then to offer opportunities and access, so that they may develop agency.

The star studded evening was a chance for people who are passionate about the community to give back. Actress Emmy Rossum served as the host and to lend her support.
