PLAC Spring/Summer 2016 started with a phrase of song titled “Wake-up” by Arcade fire is an energetic collection to convey a positive message to young generation having inner conflicts between society and individual and suggests new attitude to new kids for PLAC.
The process of garments design development starts with original military look reflecting unique details re invented from existing skills and trendy-pattern to provide novel items, and the reinterpretation of sportswear shows sophisticatedly urban silhouettes by using experimental modern detail. Also, inspired by the function and physical activity of sportswear, the collection reflects both neo-military and contemporary sportism at the same time. Camouflage print plus typography and photo collage with young and contemporary aesthetics deliver hopeful messages to new kids.
The generation of wealth and the generation of unrest are incorporated into this collection using clean and fresh construction and vital energetic colors. Mix of modern and easy to be matched mono chrome and various range of vital herb green and sunlight orange represents new kids overcoming anxiety of young generation. Using familiar materials in an unfamiliar way is our core; by combining heterogeneous textures and light compact materials we are inducting change. High density cotton, soft cotton, silky nylon, knit infused rayon, jersey with unique texture and feeling, double faced materials are mainly used.

Highwaters, pinstripes, and pleats – oh my! Proceed with caution, gentlemen, the 90s are back in full swing and the Autumn/Winter 2015 men’s collection for General Idea is not for the faint of heart – but rather for the fashion forward. With footwear provided by Dr. Marten, this collection makes a very clear statement. We’re not super keen on pleated pants in general, or high water trousers, but the dark, woolen fabrics and the simple, streamlined knit sweaters are definitely something we can get behind. A favorite? The color-blocked, full-length, sleeveless, wool coat – out of a relatively jarring collection, this piece is truly to die for.

Concept Korea Spring/Summer 2015 Collection
Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week provides the best in global fashion and art. This year’s worldly experience took me to The Republic of Korea, with Concept Korea – an annual collaborative project of fashion collectives that introduce Korean style overseas. The spring 2015 season was a special year as Concept Korea’s celebrated its 10th anniversary with “The Golden Movement” theme, which means to bring precious waves of changes to the fashion world with three new Korean designers’ collections.
À MOI Spring/Summer 2015 Collection
Effortless, easy, classic, and sleek describe A Moi’s spring 2015 collection. Drawing inspiration from her ancestral past, designer Alejandra Alonso created a collection that was all about ” rejecting the conventional and creating new realities.” A color palette of cool soft colors like navy, white, and powder blue was the backdrop for embroidered dresses, jacquard cardigans, and asymmetrical skirts. The collection offered a revered sophistication. Texture played a key role in Alonso’s use of crisp organza, soft Italian cotton, and lambskin.
Original Penguin Spring/Summer 2015 Collection
Welcome to Miami, Bienvenidos a Miami! Original Penguin Spring 2015 stepped back into the wonderful era of the late 1950’s Miami, a glamorous time period filled with energetic fun and promise.
The design team behind Original Penguin Spring ’15 referenced the beautiful homes and art-deco buildings of South Beach in the color palette, with chromatic blues, vibrant greens, aqua, and soft pinks. Real men wear pink and this collection is a champion of that idea. It would not be a Miami-inspired collection without floral print.
