Meet Yoana Baraschi‘s Fall/Winter 2011-2012 collection presented during Fashion Week at Lincoln Center. Standing around a round podium, the models were stunning in gloss fuchsia eye makeup and pulled back twisted ponytails. Yoana Baraschi’s collection was very colorful and playful. She used many geometric patterns on silk dresses, silk blouses and wool skirts. From polka dots to wide stripes, this collection had a vintage inspired flair with a progressive vibe to it. Faux fur vest and jackets were paired with some dresses and pant ensembles. Patterns, patterns and more patterns which included bold flower prints and also a snake design that appeared twice on two black dresses. One dress that stood out from the rest was a black short sleeve simple dress with a different type of bold print on it. A huge olive, huge aspirin, and a large clock on the back of it. When asked Yoana the thought process behind this one, her answer …..” I wanted to make something for a woman with a sense of humor”. As complex as her inspiration may had been, by her response it’s clear that Yoana Baraschi had fun with fashion especially when designing her Fall/Winter Fall 2011-2012.
