Vanessa
The world’s sweetest executive has finally earned her own museum. If you paid any attention to the Superbowl ads then your are familiar with Ms. Brown, the latest M&M character. Unlike her counterparts Ms Brown’s back story includes an ivy league education as well as a title, she is the “Chief Chocolate Officer”. Her fascinating story is displayed in art at a pop up gallery in NYC’s affluent Soho district.
The museum held a private opening ceremony this past on February 7th. The world event was hosted by the lovely Vanessa Williams. The “Desperate Housewives” star is also the voice of the delicious Diva Ms. Brown. Williams was on hand for the duration of the event mingling with the crowd and happily taking photos with attendees. In addition to Williams’ guests also had the opportunity to meet several of the artists responsible for the various pieces exhibited.
The museum was transformed by the uber talented Jes Gordon, who created from raw space warm relaxing atmosphere, featuring comfortable furnishings and displays. The art displayed is a collaborative effort which took months to complete and featured the painting and sculpting prowess of several artists. Sylvia Maier is a feature artist who proudly showed us the paintings she assisted with. Each portrait portrays a different scene from the life of Ms. Brown, whose likeness was painted on canvas using chocolate. Also in attendance was chocolatier Hakan Martensson, who created several of the sculptures, including a pair of Mocha stilettos.
Guests enjoyed a complimentary bar as well as tasting plates courtesy of “Pinch Food Design” Though the bar and catering will not be present during the museum’s brief run, future visitors can enjoy complimentary M&M’s throughout the space. The Museum of Chocolate will be open to the public from Wednesday, February 8th to Sunday February 12th. The museum will be open from 11am to 8pm and is free for all chocolate lovers. After you visit or even before you do take a moment and visit two of the talented contributor’s for more incredible art:
