Dearest Readers, the event of the season is upon us in New York City. But it’s not what you think. Forget the Met Gala and Fashion Week, this is a different social season. Don your best regency attire from Modiste (or Macy’s) and get ready to step into the magical world of Bridgerton. An immersive experience with a multitude of attractions — dancing, live music, cocktails, and surprises around every corner — you’ll delight in the beauty of this meticulously curated event that transports you to the world of The Queen, Lady Whistedown, and the Bridgerton brood.
The Queen, Netflix, and Fever extend an invite to “The Queen’s Palace” for an immersive soiree with libations, music, dancing, and a tale of flourishing romance. Explore immersive set recreations, interact with actors in exquisite period costumes, partake in ballroom dances, be swept away by live theatrical and acrobatic performances, and sip libations like Whistledown & Dirty and Lady Bridgerton! You can even capture the moment with a “painted portrait” in the photobooth nook.
The evening begins when you leave the streets of modern New York City behind and traverse through a stunning wisteria-laden tunnel that leads to the main event. Before you promenade through the grand entrance, a footman bestows upon you Lady Whistledown’s Society Paper outlining what to expect throughout the evening. As you enter the ballroom, prepare to be welcomed by the Bridgerton soundtrack brought to life by a talented ensemble of string performers as they recreate classical renditions of your favorite pop songs.
For the next 90 minutes, the world is your Oyster. You’ll continue to get guidance from the Queen’s footman so as not to miss any special moments, and if you opt for the VIP Queen’s Court ticket, you’ll have an even more exclusive experience. Stop by the various activations, shop the Bridgerton store for white gloves and a tiara, try your best moves on the checkered dance floor, and watch intermittent dancing and acrobatic moment. Also take note of your fellow socialites’ attire, as many partygoers are dressed as ornately as the real cast.
Should a woman not be valued for so much more than her dancing skills or her comportment? Should we not value a woman instead for her candor, her character, and her true accomplishments? For me, I hope it’s the latter because my Regency dancing skills were sub-par. In fact, the Queen herself seemed lukewarm as she swept by me and my “potential suitor” attempting to dance. Though, I did receive a slight nod of approval during my big bowing moment. While I was not her Diamond of the evening, it was still an absolute ball gliding around the dance floor with guests and actors alike.
While I didn’t find the gentleman that made it impossible for me to look away at any given moment, the whole evening was still fairy-tale-like. Plus, why settle for a Duke when my Prince is still out there? One thing that is guaranteed, you won’t regret booking a ticket to The Queen’s Ball: Bridgerton Experience. Since coming back to reality, all I find myself thinking about, all I find myself being able to breathe for…is the next season of Bridgerton which drop on Netflix on May 4th.
This experience is hosted at Mediapro Manhattan Studio, a new world-class production facility in Hudson Yards (508 West 37). Choose from a variety of sessions including weekdays & weekends. Tickets vary in pricing but it’s worth every penny to step into the fantasy of Bridgerton and pretend for one night you are Simon, Daphne, Eloise, or Lady Danbury.
