The Penthouse at the Hotel on Rivington sizzled as Alize celebrated the first night of summer and the debut of the Alize Mix Squad featuring the hottest female DJs from across the country.
Hosted by singer, actress and TV personality Adrienne Bailon, the evening honored this unique all female DJ agenda that included DJ Kiss, DJ Niena Drake, DJ Rashida, Jessica Who?, DJ Eque, DJ Dimepiece and Nina Sky. It was in my opinion, the perfect start to the summer.
As the evening flowed, the ladies mesmerized as they each took their spot spinning and captivating us with exactly why we were celebrating their mastery. Between the DJ sets, sipping on our Alize cocktails and munching, everyone including ‘Basketball Wives’ Meeka Claxton, couldn’t help grooving the night away.
Adrienne Bailon was requisitely stunning in a LaQuan Smith ensemble, DJ Rashida gave vintage glamor, DJ Eque was a chic and dreamlike beauty, Jessica Who? was princess of the summer and DJ Dimepiece who started things off laid it down in blue. My first interview was with DJ Kiss, one of the most stylish New Yorkers according to US Weekly and celebrities alike, who stole my heart with her style and her smile. And then, I could not get enough of DJ Neina Drake’s curves and electricity. Each of the DJ’s represented the woman and the music and I was proud to be in their presence.
With this new Alize Mix Squad, introducing and promoting these impressive ladies to the Alize network and the world are the first part of Alize’s intent. These female DJ’s exemplify their ‘Life’s More Colorful When You Mix It Up’ credo.
