The Accessories Council Host Valentine’s Day Top Picks

Having been single more than a year now, I had finally made peace with the fact that the odds of getting a surprise on the most romantic day of the year is a lost cause. I had already decided to spend the holiday in my bathrobe and slippers with a half pint of Ben and Jerry’s and a marathon of CSI, when fate shined on me and sent me an invite to the Accessories Council Top Valentine’s Picks Soiree.

Held at Marchon‘s impressive midtown studio, the event served as a showcase for innovative gift giving and exciting new products. The event was attended by a who’s who in the NYC blogger scene and streamed live on the web for participants across the pond. Attendees were treated to delicious moist cupcakes courtesy of Cutie Cupcakes as well as decadent chocolate cookies from vegan bakery Cornelia Guest. We also sipped on flutes of Moet & Chandon Champagne. Moet is also having a valentines campaign featuring a limited addition packaging and a gold foil marker for personalizing this decadent gift.

Each and every blogger in attendance was sent home with an incredibly generous gift pack of all the show’s items. Hosts Anne Agoren and Karen Giberson kept the evening fun and entertaining as they breezed through brief descriptions of each item. Attendees also participated in a raffle in which the prizes included two digital Olympus cameras and an amazing designer gift bag courtesy of Lena Erziak.

Here a brief rundown:

Kathy Van Zeeland: Printed leather hobo bag with detachable chest strap. This dynamic piece can be worn two ways. The straps are detachable transforming it from a shoulder tote into a dainty handbag.

Avon Jewelry: We received an assortment of Avon jewelry. Sparkly and understated these pieces are perfect accents to any outfit.

B. Makowsky Handbag: This super cute lite weight bag is perfect for the big night, or for that matter any night time outing.

Revitan Oral Therapy mouth cleanser and Gift Certificate: Aside from the gifts we were also taught valuable lessons in oral hygiene by Dentist of the stars Dr. Curatola.  The good doctor specializes in advanced dental science and innovative dentistry.  Is there any greater accessory than an amazing smile?

Armitron Watch with Swarovski Crystal Face: A chic hot pink watch with stunning crystal detail. The playful hot pink band makes a delightful contrast against the delicate crystals giving it a fun flirty appeal.

Cosabella Sexy Shaper: Usually shape wear is an ugly nuisance that molds our lumps and bumps and makes our ensembles look amazing. Cosabella is different. It’s a flirty sexy take on shape-wear, this isn’t your grandma’s girdle.

Godiva Assorted Chocolates: Is any holiday complete without some delicious Godiva chocolates? We didn’t think so either. We were presented with an assorted pack of yummy Godiva chocolates.

Calvin Klein 3D Sunglasses: As innovative as they are chic these shades go from dark theater to sunlight with ease.  Featuring Marchon 3D technology these are the shades of the future. We also received gift certificates for AMC Theaters courtesy of Calvin Klein Eyewear.

Olympus Camera Care Pack: Caribiner, USB, Soft Camera bag and coupon. One lucky tweeter actually won an Olympus camera in the on-site raffle.

Joan Boyce Bracelet Set: Not one but two elastic banded beaded bracelets. Beautifully beaded and with just a touch of sparkle these pieces are a classy addition to any wardrobe.

Kate Walsh ‘Boyfriend’ Perfume: This sweet musky scent is the equivalent of finding his scent on you after a nice hug.  Warm and inviting it has very masculine notes but maintains a soft femininity. The best part is, it isn’t a spray bottle it’s a solid creme that lingers for hours.

Hair Rules Quench Ultra Rich Conditioner: Along with the conditioner, guests received a gift certificate for one free blow out at their NYC salon.

Cupcake Cuties Valentine Cupcake Kit: Cupcake Cuties not only provided yummy treats for the event, they also handed out adorable cupcake kits that contain all you need to make super cute designer confections. The kits come in an array of styles and themes, they even have a special addition for Breast Cancer Awareness. Visit komen.org to donate.

Dearfoams Slippers: The night ended with Dearforms oh so comfy slippers. Aside from being fashionable on the outside they are incredibly soft and warm on the inside, perfect for NYC’s harsh winters.

What a great night with great bloggers, gracious hosts and grand prizes. Valentine’s Day came early this year as we were all feeling the LOVE, Thanks Accessories Council.
