Modules
Last night, A.R.T. celebrated the launch of their inaugural portfolio, “ModulA.R.T. by A.R.T.” In March 2010, the brand launched its international e-store, as well as a special Pop-Up Store located in the DUMBO area of Brooklyn, where the opening reception was held.
A.R.T. retails the first fully-customizable and co-creative modular art collection, with scalable
contemporary art modules that can be pieced together in an infinite number of ways. It is designed by artist and architect, Donald Rattner, and includes 3 lines: Wall A.R.T., Mural A.R.T., and
Shelf A.R.T. With mass customization trending in other areas, this is an artistic and architectural application of the concept. Designed to fill the gap between the high and low-end in modern art, ModulA.R.T. offers a unique approach to acquiring and appreciating fine art. The buyer gets to engage in the artistic process and can constantly add or subtract modules to a particular installation, allowing the works to grow and change over time, and to be an ongoing, gradual art investment.
Over 100 guests joined in the opening celebration at the Pop-Up, where several of the installations are on display through April 18th. Guests had the opportunity to touch, feel, and rearrange the modular pieces while being treated to wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres generously provided by the neighborhood’s favorite caterer: Bubby’s of Brooklyn.
