Denim.
These are words that best describe the 90s, as well as, Marithé + François Girbaud S/S 12 collection presented at the Metropolitan Pavilion during New York Fashion Week.
Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard along with other models walked the four part show with feet painted white. The show was divided as follows: Heritage, Color Denim, WattWsh and Rebel not Criminal
During the Heritage portion, models wore the original signature x collection jeans. Next up was color denim, which needs no explanation. In the third portio of the show models walked in WattWash denim which uses a laser instead of water to “wash” denim. Finally “Rebel not Criminal” in which models wore tanks and tees printed with that exact phrase which refer to Girbaud’s commitment to producing eco friendly garments.
It is nice to know that in a day and age where clothing is quickly disposable there are companies making fashion staples with a conscience.
