Tonight, fans of NBC’s runaway hit Revolution will find themselves enthralled in a thrilling new season. The show’s plot follows a group of revolutionaries attempting to survive 15 years after a worldwide blackout that plunges the Earth into darkness. The series takes place in the USA and gives a startling portrayal of life without electricity. For much of the world the lack of energy is very real. Many of the world’s biggest slums are without the luxuries that many of us take for granted. This fact is what makes the series so engaging and real. Earlier this week we attended an advance screening of the season 2 premiere as well as a panel discussion with some of the show’s cast as well as UN delegates who weighed in on the more realistic aspects of the program.
As a brand Generic Surplus provides menswear with basic but stylish footwear. We caught a glimpse of the latest line a few short weeks ago via a fantastic cocktail party at NYC’S Blind Barber. The Blind Barber is a jewel in the east village. It is a fun speakeasy whose entryway resembles an old-fashioned barbershop. Its old-school charm made it the perfect venue for the line of fashionable basics. Guests enjoyed bite-sized snacks and premium Ketel one cocktails while reviewing the collection.

Today we bring you a sneak peek at Son Jung Wan and what the designer says we can expect, “This season I was inspired by Morocco and the romantic, picturesque sun-drenched Sahara Desert. It is such a mysterious place where you can wander, get lost and find peace and beauty.”
The Art Institute of New York City’s next crop of young designers will bring their fashions to the fashion industry’s largest stage – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Taking their skills from the classroom to the runway, six students and four recent graduates will present their Spring 2014 capsule collections. Meet Darhel Anthony, one of the designers we will showing off his creations this year.

Featuring 1,000 vehicles plus the latest in tech, safety and innovation in nearly 900,000 sq ft. It is one of the hottest tickets in town. It seems to get better each year with the improvement of technology, horsepower, and sleek designs. What can you expect to see at this year’s auto show?
