Michael Maccari, the recently appointed Creative Director of Perry Ellis has fused modern design methods with mid-twentieth century active wear to create a “Verry Perry” Fall 2015 Collection. In his sophomore season, Mr. Maccarri combed the Perry Ellis Archives for a balanced design approach. The classic menswear looks were updated to the new century with bold fabric choices, modern prints and a post-modern color palette.
The new Perry Ellis guy is a traveler who dons smartly constructed yet weightless designs rich with natural tones in the new 2012 Spring Collection. John Crocco wanted an American Safari in a painted desert and the flow of the pieces was skewed toward an aesthetic that will give men an international yet superior feel as they walk on the streets, make a statement at that event or traipse through the airports next spring.
As people flooded in, the energy of the diverse mix parading, chatting and beaming with excitement intensified my curiosity while I sat in anticipation for Perry Ellis’ 2011 Fall Fashion Show. Then the lights prepared all and sundry; a sudden silence took hold elevating the electricity as all sat erect; and entranced as the first Brownstone Wool Herringbone Trench set the tone for this sophisticated designed collection.
