The Black Eyed Peas just rocked the Super Bowl half-time show as the headline performers. They were accompanied by fellow Pop singer Usher and Rock legend Slash, the group delivered several of their biggest hits including ‘The Time (Dirty Bit)’, ‘OMG’, ‘I Gotta Feeling’ and more. As CMJ came to a close, the real marathon began as I scrambled to catch as many concerts as I possible could. Lucky for me I only needed one artist to sum up my 2010 CMJ experience, Peter Hadar. I first came across Peter Hadar in 2008 on Love Will off of Ra-Re Valverde’s A Beautiful Mess album. His smooth voice made me take note of the singer/songwriter who as written for the likes of Joe, Carl Thomas, Eric Roberson, to name a few. With his single Full Time Lover, Peter is gearing up for the release of a new album Take Off Victoria expected out Spring 2011.

With every CMJ concert I attended, no matter the artist or genre, I walk away with a sense of renewed inspiration.
California’s Loomis & The Lust made a splash impression with the music goers of CMJ. The four-member band blend aspects of pop hooks and rock strings to create a light-hearted sound that is reminiscent of the 80s.
The Hennessy Artistry Tour ended is 2010 5 city tour in NYC last night. The soiree/concert was held in lower Manhattan’s Cipriani, a major destination for high end celebrity functions. Smoke machines and lighting effects added to the air of mystery as everyone milled around the expansive ballroom waiting for the show to start.
The minute I received the invite to attend a performance by Rosie’s Kids, I pictured 5-year-olds in tutus, and sunflower hats singing “You Are My Sunshine” followed by a medley of preschool classics. The way I saw it I’d smile and enjoy a cute little performance by cute little kids and while still riding high on all that sweetness I’d attend the after-party at the penthouse and “treat” myself to a little grown-up liquid candy supplied by sponsor Devotion Vodka. Imagine my surprise at being floored by a troupe of super talented young adults and pre-teens who in just one hour managed to restore my faith in the performing arts.
