Film Review: Night Swim

After a debilitating illness, former major league baseball player, Rich Waller moves his family into a small suburban town with the hopes of reclaiming his former glory. Cut from his team, with a few good years left to play, Waller is desperate for a new start. As luck would have it, Waller finds a beautiful affordable home, where his family can thrive and he can heal. It’s in a great neighborhood, there are good schools, plenty of space and a beautiful but haunted pool in the backyard. Shortly after moving in things seem to be looking up for the family as his health improves his wife is thriving in her new career and the children are settling in nicely. Things are running smoothly until one by one the Wallers each experience, a supernatural event, courtesy of the family pool. Will the Wallers survive the dark forces surrounding their pool or be engulfed and drowned by evil?

The year is 1994 and Noah Diaz is having a hard time making ends meet. The Brooklyn native puts his computer skills to use around the hood but it isn’t enough to help his family rise above mounting medical bills. A chance encounter with a sentient hot rod introduces the ambitious young man to the Autobots, a faction of Transformers trapped on Earth desperately seeking a way home. The hands of fate also draw in young historian Elena Wallace who unknowingly uncovers an artifact that could be the Autobot’s ticket home. Unfortunately for all, the piece was also tracked by a world-devouring God called Unicron who sends his henchmen to retrieve the piece. In order to save the planet, humans and machines must band together to preserve life as we know it and save the world from its biggest threat.

Film Review: Fast X

On the eve of one of the most giant European jobs the family has ever done, trouble comes knocking. An old enemy drops in bringing bad tidings and hoping to join forces against a common threat. The impromptu meeting leads Dom to Italy to save Rome and the crew from a botched heist. Dom’s arrival sets the wheels in motion for a revenge-seeking maniac’s diabolical plan to split the family up for good and make Dom suffer for his sins.

Film Review: SMILE

Dr. Rose Cotter is a workaholic devoted to her profession as a psychiatrist. Opting to work in a county clinic instead of with wealthy clientele, she’d become accustomed to a fast-paced environment where anything can happen. She thought she was prepared for anything, but nothing could prepare her for witnessing the suicide of a patient. After witnessing the horrific death of a young patient she was unable to help, the good Dr. comes face to face with the same affliction. In a race against time, Dr. Cotter must find a cure or meet certain death, with a smile.

Film Review: Beast

Recent widower Dr. Nate Samuels takes his teenage daughters on safari in Africa. Their time in the bush is majestic until they stumble across a man on the road. He warns them of a devil nearby, and despite his cryptic warning they forge ahead to a ravaged village and come face to face with a rabid lion. They try desperately to escape and in their haste, wreck their vehicle, and lose all communication and their guide. Trapped in the bush with a demented predator on their trail the grief-stricken family must rely on their instincts and each other to make it out alive.

Film Review: NOPE

Far out in the scorching heat of the California desert, the pair find themselves faced with a threat neither could predict. Something keeps interfering with the electricity, spooking the horses, and raining random objects. There’s something out there amongst the clouds and whatever it is,  it means business.

Film Review: The Black Phone

Each call from the phone provides a clue for how to escape the lunatic’s clutches. Will he uncover the secret to the clues and find his way home? Or will he lose the game and become just another voice on the line?
