MBFW | Lacoste Fall/Winter 2010

by Desha Winborne

Christophe Lemaire

A grinning alligator composed of tiny light was the first image greeting spectators at Lacoste’s autumn 2010/2011 showing. The brand’s very last presentation at the Bryant park venue, fashion week showings will now be held at Lincoln center, began with a wave of neutrals followed by tidal waves of muted yet powerful color. The start of the show featured layers of beige and gray in soft tactile fabrics. With a subtle nod to the eighties models donned leggings and leg warmers beneath oversized coats with generous shoulders. Side ponytails and smoky eyed models paraded the length of the runway all smiles. It was a refreshing and youthful offering for fall by Creative director Christophe Lemaire.
