Summer will be a little sweeter this year thanks to Dairy Queen’s latest ice cream treats. The new confections are part of a limited time promotion, that will run until August at participating locations. Since its humble beginnings in 1940, Dairy Queen (DQ) has amassed a loyal fan base all over the world. Over the years the brand has grown and evolved by continuing to build on its initial concept. The DQ soft serve is one of the most popular in the world delighting sweet tooths everywhere with its thick creamy sweetness. This year the franchise is launching a collection of decadent sweets that take soft serve to new heights.

We recently stopped by Magnolia Bakery on the upper west side of Manhattan to the feast of the latest additions to their already tasty menu. The Summer Soiree menu will include just about everything, from pies and crisps to muffins and icebox desserts, each month of the summer celebrates the season’s freshest fruits, including strawberries (June),
blueberries (July) and peach (August).

Ben & Jerry’s Celebrates ’30 Rock’ Finale by Launching Liz Lemon Flavor

Fans of 30 rock may be losing a prime-time favorite, but they will gain a delicious memento. World-renowned sweet treat juggernaut Ben and Jerry’s has released a great new flavor based on the syndicated sitcom. “Liz Lemon” named after the show’s heroin, portrayed by Tina Fey, is a smooth confection of frozen Lemon Greek Yogurt with swirls of lavender and blueberry. Though Ben Jerry’s usually releases new flavors int he spring they made a rare exception and released on the evening of the premiere of 30 Rock’s series finale. Fans, media and ice cream enthusiasts gathered at midtown’s cozy Latitude bar/lounge to celebrate and sample this latest creation. Guests of the event were treated to passing appetizers, beer and wine as well as copious amounts of “Liz Lemon”.
