Hotel Reviews

Most of the time all you need is a nap to feel rejuvenated. Sometimes you need a real escape. A week-long break from work, school, family, or whatever is zapping all of your energy. This year we finally got around to planning a vacay in Mexico. This would mark our first time in Mexico so, we didn’t want just any hotel. When we were in search of an all-inclusive slice of paradise, Palace Resorts instantly came to mind. The Palace Resorts group is a popular chain of resorts with properties in Jamaica and Mexico. After a very busy Summer, we were in need of some real rest and relaxation. After an exhaustive search through reviews, we thought The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun would be the perfect fit.

Smyth, A Thompson Hotel is located down in lower Manhattan or Tribeca, just below the usual tourist traps and walking distance from the financial district. This chic yet homey boutique hotel recently underwent renovations and provides guests with a more casual approach to luxury. We visited the space a few weeks ago to check out the layout and enjoy their cozy bar scene. The hotel is located just outside of the Chambers Street subway station making it an easy place to get to for locals as well as visitors.

The Lexington New York City Grand Opening

by xoJohn

Originally opening in 1929, The Lexington New York City was and still is known for providing comfort to Jazz aficionados and Hollywood A-list stars like Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio. To celebrate the recent $46 million transformation, the New York City landmark threw a spectacular party that consisted of live jazz music, light bites, and delicious cocktails. Guests included Ruben and Isabel Toledo, John Tracy, Karine Plantadit, Desmond Richardson, to name a few.

Location: 235 W 46th Street New York, NY 10036

Cuisine: American

Items: 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 Cocktails and 2 Desserts

Best Dish: We enjoyed all the food immensely but our standout favorites were the tender juicy meatballs and the succulent Pot Roast Short ribs.  Both dishes are serious must have for red meat lovers!

Overall: Though we loved the old decor the new look and menu are grand additions to the Paramount’s tradition of excellence. The space may be elegant and well designed the vibe is comfortable and casual. The new Paramount Bar & Grill is well on its way to becoming a destination space for theater goers and the after-work.
