Hornitos Halloween

Halloween in New York City is always a festive affair. The city hosts a slew of spooky events. The Annual Village Halloween parade is one of many highlights during Halloween. The parade itself is filled with amazing costumes, floats, and great performances. Before heading out to enjoy All Hallows’ Eve frenzy, I plan on hosting a more intimate affair with some close friends. Think of it as the calm before the storm if you will. Amongst my friends, I’m usually the go-to person for creating a delicious and festive drink for everyone. For Halloween, I’ve created the “Scream Cream.” The main ingredient for this beverage is Hornitos® Black Barrel, which is a premium aged Añejo tequila. It’s different than any other tequila I’ve consumed in the past, simply because of the hint of whiskey this flavor carries, and I also enjoy a good whiskey.

Happy Hour is a good ole tradition where folks hit up their favorite restaurant, bar, stadium, or state/county fair, for affordable alcoholic drinks, such as beer, wine, and cocktails. Sometimes free or discounted Hors d’oeuvres are offered as well. I personally love a good Friday afternoon Happy Hour, especially if my friends get out of work early for Summer Fridays. Since summer is winding down, I wanted to grab onto what’s left of it. During summer and Happy Hour, I often go for refreshing cocktails, nothing too strong or overbearing, because it’s too darn hot in New York City for any strong alcoholic beverages. During my recent vacation in Aruba, I fell in love with coconut water all over again. Imagine lounging on the white sandy beaches of Aruba and a hotel staffer hands you a fresh coconut with a straw in it. So good! To capture that moment, I wanted to create a delicious drink with coconut water and tequila, to make the ultimate Happy Hour cocktail. This cocktail had to be enjoyable enough for me and my friends to keep our minds off the cool fall weather that’s about to hit us on the east coast.

Take Your 4th of July BBQ to the Next Level

Independence Day is a federal holiday in which we commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. The 4th of July is also a holiday to bring us all together for a joyous celebration. I have fond childhood memories of fireworks shopping with my friends in Washington, DC and then gathering for a fun BBQ, where our parents would light all of the fireworks. As I grew into adulthood, this day became a tradition for a few of us to get together and watch the city’s fireworks, while enjoying some good old BBQ. Fireworks, BBQ, family, and friends, and of course booze. If you’re planning the same type of BBQ, you might want to take it to the next level with a fun booze-infused treat. I played around with a few ideas. Most of my inner circle loves tequila and BBQ, so I thought it would be a great idea to hook them up with a Hornitos® Tequila Plata infused BBQ striped chicken dish. It’s pretty simple to make and only took 15 minutes to cook.
