This week marked DIFFA‘s Annual Dining by Design fundraiser. The event is DIFFA’s largest fundraisers of the year and takes place during Architectural Digest’s Annual Design show. Dining by Design brings together designers from all over the country each presenting a new and exciting tablescape for the sake of a worthy cause. Each Designer is provided an unfinished space to transform into an imaginative decadent dining experience. Each one a definitive representation of the artist’s mindset and aesthetic sense. Though most provide a fanciful and extravagant image of dining, they can all be used for inspiration in any humble abode. We encourage anyone with a passion for pretty things or philanthropy to attend this fundraiser for DIFFA.

DIFFA to Honor Isabel & Ruben Toledo & Rick Wolf at Dining by Design

DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS will launch its 16^th annual DINING BY DESIGN tour with 4-days of events running concurrently with the Architectural Digest Home Design Show at Pier 94, 12^th Ave. at 55^th Street in New York City on Thursday, March 21^st through Sunday, March 24^th. This year, DIFFA will honor two of their greatest supporters in Isabel & Ruben Toledo, famed designers and artists as well as long time board member Rick Wolf. The Toledo’s, who will receive the annual Rockwell Service Award and Rick Wolf, who will be presented with the Unsung Hero Award will be honored at the Gala celebration, this year taking place on Thursday, March 21^st as a kick-off to DINING BY DESIGN. The event will bring together some of the most talented and celebrated individuals in the worlds of fashion, interior design, art, and architecture to create spectacular, over-the-top dining environments.

Fine Dining the DIFFA Way

Last week’s DIFFA event was an amazing charity event which raised funds for AIDS research. The installments prepared for the evening were created by an eclectic mix of interior designers who worked hard to create fanciful and chic dining experiences. Each of the setups had a unique personality all its own and will likely inspire more than a few attendees to spruce up their homes. Though many were presented here are our favorite personalities:

As you know we love DIFFA and everything they do to support and educate us about HIV/AIDS. Since being founded in 1984, DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) has mobilized the immense resources of the design communities to provide over $40 million to hundreds of AIDS service organizations nationwide. We had the pleasure of attending the 15th annual Dining by Design New York Gala Dinner.

DIFFA’s DINING BY DESIGN will bring together some of the most talented and celebrated individuals in the worlds of fashion, interior design, art, and architecture to create spectacular, over-the-top dining environments. This past month, DIFFA was also extremely fortunate to announce Cindy Allen, Editor-In-Chief of Interior Design as a new co-chairman of their board.

After enjoying DIFFA’s (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) Cocktails by Design, we attended the Table Hop & Taste. Guests enjoyed wine by Hob Nob Wines and sampled the most delicious culinary treats from New York’s top restaurants. Of course, we have a closer look at the gourmet food and the participating restaurants.
