Summers are made for outdoor fun. There are a lot of outdoor activities taking place throughout the New York City tri-state area. One in particular I wanted to check out was the Hudson RiverRocks concert, which celebrates its 17th season this year. The free outdoor concert series draws crowds every year and features established artist, as well as new and upcoming performers. The Hudson RiverRocks concert series takes place at beautiful pier 84 and goes on whether it rains or shines.

The Playboy Jazz Festival took over the Hollywood Bowl this past weekend. The two-day festival saw droves of people coming together to enjoy the musical talents of both veteran and up-and-coming acts.

On Saturday Morgan James showed us exactly why she was picked to play the part of Teena Marie in Motown: The Musical. The majority of her set included songs from her debut album titled Hunter. Morgan belted out the lyrics to “Fed Up on You” which instantly became one of my new favorite songs! “Heart Shake” and “Say the Words” were pretty dope as well.

Restaurant Review: The Cutting Room

by Desha Winborne

Location: 44 E. 32nd Street

Cuisine: Eclectic American Bar Food

Items: 2 Appetizers, 2 cocktails, 1 pizza, 2 entrees and 1 dessert

Best Dish: The best dish is a tie between the delicious beefy burger and the sweet succulent crab cakes.  The crab cakes were moist and delicious but how can you resist a big juicy burger?

Overall: Great adult atmosphere. This is not a family place this is the space for mature grown up fun.

Eric Roberson with Chubb Rock

To release 8 albums on your own independent record label is a huge accomplishment.  Such is the case for two-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Eric Roberson, who will release Mister Nice Guy on November 8th.
